Why is Pepsi vs. Coke a thing when they and all other cola products are kilometers behind the sweet sugary goodness of something like Dr Pepper or Mountain Dew?

I respect you as king of opinions on food products but I'm afraid I can't grant you that title over the domain of beverages.

 

I would almost consider myself a soda connoisseur, I do like Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew, but I always come back to Pepsi.
