As you are a newbie, I would not advise you to venture in unknown territory. Read this forum, try to gain information about honest requesters, check out TO tool, use turalert.com and plan your activity. Mturk is not something where you will start making lots of dollars initially. You need to get up your HIT counts and approval percentage to qualify for more high paying tasks. At this moment, my advise to you will be to do more of Oscar Smith hits, and before you do those read the threads here discussing Oscar Smith. You will get lot of ideas on how to work on his HITS. Important thing here is that he does not rejects the work, so there is a high chance for you to improve your approval rate. Do 50-75 Oscar HITS in a day and you are on your way. Hope this helps
