This is a thread for those of us who have been having issues with Turk not working, generally during the afternoon hours. Feel free to post issues, updates and suggestions here.
Please post whatever details you feel comfortable sharing. I'll start. Issues seem to hit between 11 a.m. EST and 4 p.m. EST. I am using Fire Fox. Browser is up to date. 2 emails sent to Turk. Their response was to update browser and clear cookies. Neither worked.
I have been submitting emails for the last three weeks daily regarding this. I have received the same email response from Turk from the same "worker" Toefiqh. There has been no follow up from beyond the instructions that Pigeon refers to. Outages have seemed to increase with regularity and length of outtage. EDIT: I have begun to receive messages from Turk now with the following response: This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY. YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE. Delivery to the following recipient has been delayed: contactus+A6XFAAG3HNJML@mturk.com Message will be retried for 1 more day(s)
This is ridiculous. The outages keep getting longer and longer. If everyone had to deal with this, I would be much less pissed off. But it is not fair that only some of us are having this issue and it's a constant problem.
Service is back for me finally Service is back for me finally, came back about 10 minutes ago I use time warner btw
I am not sure when my service came back but I would guess around 5:00 ish. I am on BrightHouse (now Charter). At work I am on FIOS so I guess AT&T now. Same problem on both these networks
And the fact that it seems to be isolated individuals also means its far less likely to get resolved (sadly)
No. I have it hit at all different times with all different HITs. Also I rarely do batches so it's not batch-specific.
I agree. I do a mixture and it really is at random. I have experienced it when my queue is empty, when it has 3 times or when it has 10+ so I am not sure type of HIT has anything to do with it. I don't do much weekend work but I have yet to see this error occur then, so I have to believe its something about how and whatever way its hitting the servers.
Woke up to this email from a new tech rep for Amazon: Hi Sean This is Adele from Mechanical Turk Support Team. I'm sorry to hear about the troubles you are having with the Mechanical Turk site. I've forwarded this to our developers to investigate and work toward a resolution. Thanks for your patience while we look into this. Thank you for your inquiry. Did I solve your problem? If yes, please click here:
And right on cue, mturk problems starting again earlier than ever. Didn't come back till after 5pm for me yesterday. If this continues I am going to have to quit mturk and get some unbearable crap job.
Seems to work again. We'll see for how long Also wanted to mention that even though it's working right now.. there's lag. The lag on scraper and HM is noticeable(even though it works).
I got the message twice on my phone, but never on my laptop. Which is probably not helpful, but....it's interesting.
Sorry all. I was out all day at meetings and finally had a chance to Turk. I got a similar message as Pigeon last night.
