So, I'm jobless. Work said they needed to hire someone to replace me while I was out getting my hysterectomy. And they don't have room for both of us and don't wanna fire the new person to bring me back. So, I need to make at least $40 a day on here to survive. Yeah, let's see how that works out for me. :/

 

That doesn't seem right. How can they not give you your job back after surgery?

 

My guess would be that it's part-time with few protections, probably something where they know that legal action wouldn't be even remotely worth it so they just do whatever they want.

 

Small business, less than 15 employees, so FMLA doesn't apply. Right to work state, can fire without notice for any reason. I was full time, but it doesn't matter, legally. I'm in PA, so I'm eligible for unemployment automatically because I got fired for medical related issues, but I'm still out of a job.

 

Glad you can at least get unemployment, make sure you apply right away. Good luck, I'm sure you can swing $40/day if you put the time in.

 

Yeah, I can get it, but have to wait a month to be eligible. Pa unemployment is wonky. Plus, I already started applying to other jobs a few weeks ago since I knew this was a possibility. Thanks for the encouragement, I need it lol

Sigh. My bank balance isn't pretty. I have a take home exam and two essays to write but turking comes first. Slow morning. Not off to a great start.

 

I feel ya. I can definitely hit my 40 a day, but I'll end up working all day long

 

Anything decent to work on? I got 1 PI Search, then they disappeared. And I'm really not in the patient mood today for Research Tasks... Anything to mindlessly click on?
