Does anybody know what the limit is to get the "holy info" access on that forum. I have over 100 posts and been a member for 35 days. If any of you are "privileged" members please let me know thanks: )

It would be better if you ask the same over there itself, instead of coming here and creating a new thread by their name.

In reality, there probably isnt a set limit of days registered / posts made. The site is very "cliquey" so it is likely that the mods suggest ppl to to be upgraded (since I noticed they have about 320 to 330 moderators they have the bandwidth to have the eye on everyone).

From the tiny bit of info I've been able to glean there's not a set number per se. The number of posts depends on how long you've been there and then you still need a certain number of stars under your name (or thanks - I'm not sure). As you said there are people over there with over 100 posts who don't have access.

I refuse to use that site. It is ridiculous the way it is a big clique. I don't have time to do all that and make tons of posts but cannot get access. I don't know any forum that does that. Not even my work at home boards.
    This site is much better.

Exactly. Not to mention no one will even give an idea of how many posts you need. It's number of posts, content of posts, how helpful you are, how much arse you kiss blah blah. Honestly I find it ridiculous how that forum is run.. sure I want help making more money etc but I'll be damned if I'm going to shove my head up someone's arse untul I suffocate just to get access to this 'alleged' totally awesome, uberfantastic, bomb freakin' diggity tips, tricks, superspecialsecret info they claim is there.

Also.. to add.. there is NO freakin' reason whatsoever to have over 300 moderators for a single forum. That is the most absurd shite I have ever heard. Seriously.... 300+ mods on a forum? Criminy!

Well 3 super mods, 3 mods, 6 mods in training and 5 admins at least makes more sense than 300+ moderators. I couldn't imagine what the size of a forum would have to be to require over 300 moderators. That would be insane.

I'd rather spend my time on Mechanical Turk itself than waste time sucking up to people on there :D

They make out like they have some Holy Grail hidden away that only they are privy to and it's absolute nonsense, MTurk is the same for everyone. Spend the time on MTurk and use your own common sense and you will see you don't need their super "secret forums" to make money.

    Behind the curtain

a hundred posts and a month are the baseline, I'm sure of it. The content of your posts. The times thanked. The times YOU thank other posts, what you thank. It's all taken into consideration.

There are only two threads there that are of any use. One is for better-paying surveys and the other is for piggy bank (under a dollar) surveys. That thread is updated throughout the day by other members.

Other than that, you will find threads on just about every requester out there. There will be discussion and help to do those types of work. You'll also find that a lot of what they talk about is for "qualified workers" and you're no longer able to qualify for those writing HITs. They're talking about work they can do and you won't ever be able to do.

There's also threads locked away from requesters so you can bitch about them. And some not-so-locked away so a rep from the company can come and give some canned answer as to why their projected hourly rates are so low and how they're trying to up it.

If you want in-depth talk about/to/from certain requesters, keep going for it. The novelty of the survey threads and being able to read what requesters have had to say can wear off within a couple of days. Then you get to see what people are like when they aren't trying to be welcoming to the new people.

Every new person that joins that forum puts a nail in a coffin of one of the workers that's been there for a long time. They hate new people. They hate change. They don't strive to find a new way to make things work, they are stuck in the old days where they could make a hundred bucks in an hour while working around Google's SEO algorithms.

Go for it. It isn't all that special though.

People here are willing to help those who also help themselves. For free. Without locked boards. Knowing full well that people at TN can read every word that's said here.

Well I should probably learn how to keep my mouth shut about this topic but for some reason I feel compelled to speak out. I have been a member of TN for a few years now (I started there before it was a closed forum) and I have to say that there are many...many helpful people there. We are not all power hungry, arrogant, assholes that need to have our ego fed by slamming other people. Nor are we all ass kissing, brainwashed minions that believe everything that the administrator has to say. However, I will say that there are many more helpful areas besides just the survey areas there when it comes to making good money. When I first started there it was more like a family forum and we all looked out for each other. When the forum moved and became a "private" forum I was lucky enough to have full access already as I had been there long enough and contributed on a regular basis. I do not know what the requirements are to actually get into the private areas for newbies, but I do know that it is more then just a post count. I can understand why some on the "outside" would say nasty things about TN as there have been many changes since it has become "private". Also, there are many who have been banned from there that will go off on a tangent complaining about it. Trust me when I say that the admin and I are far from being each others biggest fans but I do understand why the forum was closed. The problem (from what I understand) is that there are too many damned people in this world who want something for nothing. Forums like these should be a give and take situation but it seems that there are way too many people in this world that want to take...take...take without even a thought of giving anything back. With that being said I have to add that I have seen many people banned from there but I have also seen many more people welcomed with open arms by the people of TN. It really is worth it to join if you can contribute and have patience but if you are going to just be a taker don't bother.

The funny thing is, you're all sitting here bitching about them. They've got bad ass requesters sitting in their chatroom handing them money. Your forum owner closes threads as soon as he's exposed. Maybe I should STFU too..

It's not a bad relationship Playa. I don't walk on eggshells and I don't look over my shoulder. Granted, there are rules in TN just as there are rules in life that I don't like, but I don't run the forum so I abide by them (usually). And actually the rules that are in place really are there for everyone's best interest.

As for the give and take aspect of it. It is not I gave you now it's your turn. It is more like take all the help you need but help others too. The thing is, everyone in life has something to contribute. Maybe one person finds a great requester and shares.... then another gets a bulk rejection and warns people.... yest still another shares a quicker way to do a hit and therefore we all make more per hour. The fact of the matter is, it is not much different then what the "givers" do in here but you just don't have all those takers lurking in the background and "stealing" all the information without giving shit.

@bootybitch... how very true you are. :)
