I am doing Keywords on Google HITs for CrowdSource. My question is this: When you go to copy and paste the url what are you supposed to do when the url is not all there? In other words the url is so long that it is cut off and followed by an ellipses?? Thank you Jena
Go into the web page and click the url at the top, it's the same thing, just without any of it cut off. A merely cursory look at those instructions are kind of confusing.
ok so I tried to do that.... Here is what I copied and pasted: http://www.suttermedicalfoundation....le_plus-local&campaign=local-california-snmg5 Crowdsource says it is not a correct url. Where would I have cut it off at? Thanks Jena
ok so I should cut it off after the html? sorry I'm not very technical when it comes to this type of computer stuff. thank you so, so much for your help
Make sure that when you paste the link that there is no spaces after the end of the link. Also if this is the one that asks for you to paste the most relevant result I usually just pick the next one that will work and then in the notes section I tell them that my first choice was not accepted and put the link. They have a problem with their required format. I don't remove any of the url since they want to know exactly what page you were taken to.
Ok I will try that - I haven't been having much luck copying and pasting the url once I go to the website - I keep getting the red box note telling me it's not a proper url - not matter what I do to the url. Just to clarify - when you say that you put in the notes that your first choice was not accepted and put the link are you saying that you put the link from the first choice that would not work?? Thanks! Jena
I basically say that: After copying and pasting my first choice in the box above I got an error and it was not accepted. Then I paste the first URL. I keep hoping the will fix the formatting that they accept in the boxes. They also want the url that is on the google page not the one on the web page. This is where you need to make sure that you don't add spaces at the end by accident. Edit: Select results that do not include "..." or ">". These are the ones that cause the most problems.
Thank you tcgirl - I will try that. When you are on the Google search page - do you pick the ones that come first that are in the shaded box and are "ad related" or do you go to the first result after the "ad related" ones??
There will be no more than ten results on each page that you have as choices. Occasionally there are less, but that's relatively rare. These are probably in the top five easiest hits available on MTurk. Oscar, these, Angela Medlar, and probably something else that I'm either forgetting, or haven't done yet.
You should pick the one you think is most relevant. If they wanted the top result, they would ask for the top result.
When you copy and paste the URL directly from the webpage, double check the beginning. It usually adds an extra http:// - I have that happen a lot and it's easy to miss it, therefore getting the "not a correct URL" message.
