They start charging you for student (cheaper than regular prime) after a while. Even later down the line, they start requiring documentation. I forgot to send mine in, so I got charged the full price on the 1st. I think I have until June to get the form turned in.

hbobh, I use a walmart money card and have never had any problems, and I can use it to pay bills.

$3 bucks a month unless you put in more than a grand (which I did last month WOOT!) and a couple bucks fee if you use an atm (I dont)

 

hbobh, there's also the Mango prepaid card. When get deposits from work or amazon they are always in there the next day by 3AM, which is kinda nice, but there is a $5 a month fee for months you use it.

 

That sucks.

I'm glad I turned auto renewal off.

 

The big problem with the Bluebird card is that you can only use it where they accept Amex cards, right?

True, but I haven't had an issue with any place not accepting AmEx. You can always go to the ATM. Or get cash back if you're not near a free ATM.

Alright, ya'll have me curious. Is there a reason I shouldn't be just directly transferring into my bank? Should I have one of these cards too? lol I usually just transfer into my bank, it's there the next day, with 0 fees.

 

That's what I do, too. I think the whole "transfer to cards" thing mostly applies to people who don't have bank accounts?

Ive heard people talk about getting rejections from them. Someone here in the past couple of days I think.
