I can combine both! Ever had porcupine meatballs? (Hey, if the eyes aren't glazed over yet (or if there's no rigor yet, if there's not a head), I'll cook it and eat it.)

No shit. The other night, I had a sniffing fit (not unlike a dog that smells bacon). My GF asked me WTH I was doing. I said "I smell a rabbit." Turns out our roomie had picked up an old rabbit cage and stored it outside. In the rain. On the other side of the wall.

(Hey, I know more about rabbits than you'd want to. Can't help it.)

Dammit, now I want rabbit. Or squirrel. Even some dog or horse would do. Hmmmm... pigeon? Where's my slingshot. They'll be roosting this hour.

By the way, anybody else catch Morgan Spurlock's CNN special on unions last night? Pretty heavy handed, but it still had me fantasizing about what mTurk could actually be.

I actually want to start my own, in the style of Hand to Mouth meets Good Eats, and call it "Who's Lime Is It Anyway, where the foods made up and the smell doesn't matter."

AMT would be so much better if the US government collected 30% tax on all work done by foreigners. As it is in the US, you have to pay 12.4% (employer+employee) for SS taxes, 10% rate up to $15k (not to mention state income and sales taxes that would come, if the money stayed in the country). The "free trade" is really killing the game, most requesters are pricing at 3rd-world wages.

LOL I definitely wouldn't eat it but that's more to do with my weird food issues than anything else. If I prepare food especially meat then I'll be to grossed out to eat it. I'm weird like that. If I could survive and be healthy by only eating chocolate I'd be the happiest girl in the world.

I'm ok cleaning up animal carcasses as long as rigor hasn't set in. Rigor mortise freaks me out big time for some reason. If it's all floppy with guts hanging out everywhere I get a shovel but if that critter is stiff I avoid that side of the yard and call my brother lol.

Anybody have stats on how many American vs foreign AMT workers there are? Never thought that some of these peanut wages are actually decent for some people around the world.

I don't have the numbers but if I think of it and somehow find them I'll PM you.

And yes, it's a ton of money for some. Example: Typical factory wage in Bangladesh is just over $500/year ($40 a month). In India, average wages are I believe $1500/year (maybe $1200?) ($100-125/month). So companies are taking advantage of all the benefits of America, and using the cheapest labor they can find. It's just not a sustainable economic model, as can be seen by the millions of lost manufacturing and call center jobs in the US that just aren't going to come back (or get replaced by similar-paying jobs).

Odd thing: I can handle anything EXCEPT:
    1. Brown lettuce.
    2. Dog slobber.

Seriously. I've cleaned up brains, vomit, poop of various ages and species, debrided my own wounds and dressed those of others, and picked up foot and hand chunks at various points in my life. But I can't do those two. Just nopenopenope.
