Hi all, I want some advice. I've been working on Mturk since Sept., in my area the job market is crap (as it is most places) and have been unable to find real world job. The gap on my resume is sizable, about 11 months at this point. I was thinking about putting MTurk on my resume, listing it as an al a carte freelance data processing and copy editing position (those are mostly the types of hits I do). I want to list it because I don't want employers to assume I've lost a lot of skills or just been sitting on my butt (for some reason they don't count job hunting as anything, which they should because it takes up most of my time, I digress). Do you think putting MTurk on my resume is a good idea or what? All thoughts and advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I would definitely put down something about freelance work, but you don't really have to go into detail about mturk. Best of luck!
I agree. I describe my turking as freelancing for long-distance clients. If asked to elaborate, I just state that there are a number of services online that help clients and freelancers connect. I don't specify MTurk, because I think it would be a bit tough to negotiate compensation if an employer knew that I would do hits for $0.01!
