I've been doing it, sometimes with an explanation of why/how. (Like, some are redirecting to sites that are up for sale, so I mention that, or that they might not even be in business anymore.)

That said, I'm seeing lots of media companies that I can't find ANY social media contact for at all, and that seems insane to me. Maybe Italy doesn't have twitter yet?
