In the beginning of each HIT, she includes: "This task is simple, associate nouns for each given image. Don't try to be creative, just write the first words that come to your mind for each entity in the image. Examples: lamp, street light, street, night, lights, girl, car. (This is good!) girl, woman, dress, gathering, party, cake. (This is good!) amazing, awesome, hot, supplying, smoking. (This is not good) talking, joke, funny. (This is not good)" In each line, there is more than one noun. Also, she says "associate nouns for each given image". Nouns is plural. Also, when she first posted up the batch this morning, it was for $0.07 but after I emailed her informing her that the images were not loading in her HITs, she took them all down, reuploaded them, and made them worth $0.08 instead. EDIT: Had to include quotation marks.
hey now - brother goes to mizzou. otherwise i definitely would not be a tiger fan. i'm only going to columbia for the first time for his grad in a few months... hopefully, if my kid is not born, like, two days before. badger fan otherwise. but they're not playing today. so GO TIGERS
Pardon me, but where is there a number in any of that??? I assumed those examples were of acceptable words, not an indication of how many words she wanted in each box, and I can't see that it's my fault I made that assumption.
She definitely should have included a specific number of some sort to give us a range of how many to add. I emailed her about that and am waiting for a response. I just counted up how many words were used in the example and did the same amount (6-8 words). All of mine have been approved within 10 minutes of submitting them.
There's no need to place so much emphasis on hit totals. Just do the ones that pay well, don't worry so much about hitting some magical number that more often than not isn't going to make much of a difference.
No specific number given, but it's definitely implied that there should be more than one. "It is important that you use commas to separate each noun. Try to name as many nouns so as to describe the full image contents"
They created a "two-tiered" board, wherein only the elite members are allowed to see threads such as this one, i.e. threads which are about hits and include useful information rather than people telling one another about the cute things their pets did. The place is useless now. If anyone who isn't among the elite posts anything useful, it's whisked into the secret forums where they can no longer see it, and they get fined "points" or even banned for having broken the forum rules. It's ridiculous.
Also, this is in her directions as well: "It is important that you use commas to separate each noun. Try to name as many nouns so as to describe the full image contents." You can't "use commas to separate each noun" if there's only one. "Name as many nouns so as to describe the full image contents." There's a lot of sentences that imply multiple nouns should be given per image. Also, I noticed that there is a very negative review on TO for her that was made around the same time you created a post in this forum and it correlates with your situation. If that is your TO review, may I ask why you gave her 1/5 for all of the categories? The only category that should get a 1/5 would be the communication category, since she hasn't responded to your e-mail yet. However, when/if she does respond, that should be altered. I'm still very new but according to what many people have said in this forum, it seems as though $0.10/minute is acceptable and her HIT is $0.08/minute but can honestly be done twice per minute. Even if you could only finish one HIT per minute, that's still only $0.02 below Mturk Forum's standard (or what I believe it to be from what I've heard from everyone). I'm probably taking this way too far and blowing this completely out of proportion and, if I am, I really do apologize but this is obviously a very new requester and have a very negative review on TO when there's only 3 gives her an overall iffy (and extremely negative for communication) rating.
Yeah, it does stink. I was going to do surveys today because there doesn't seem to be much else. Now IDK, I guess I'll do the non-Qualtrics surveys and some CS hits and call it a day if this keeps up. The page has been trying to load for 15 minutes on the survey I'm trying to do.
Now I really regret inviting her into this forum to better communicate with us because now she's just gonna see this.
