Repost for new day thread: RE: Measurement HITs: Heads up on anyone doing these HITs: I wrote the requester after doing the task in the HIT (shown plainly on the HIT acceptance page). The HIT link task was in a foreign language (I believe Thai), and could not be categorized, so I chose "No Category." The HIT will not submit if you choose THIS designation. I had to return it. Wrote requester. He responded and asked me to pass this info on to you: "Thanks for the heads up! I've fixed the issue in the template and added the option to type in subcategory when parent category is 'None', but I don't think it'll be reflected in the active batchŠ I'm reading API docs right now to see if I can fix this without invalidating the work people have done so far. For the time being, select Adult as a placeholder. [...] And I’d absolutely appreciate it if you spread the word to select Adult when all else fails on the forums. Thanks, Wynn" FYI. YMMV.
Lol white people. I killed a 30 pack and its 45 degrees in here and I'm sweating. Guess I didn't give the old liver quite enough time to heal. I won't be turking tomorrow, but I hope to see you all in the morning. Goodnight all!
I like that they expect us to remember not only a specific hit with a generic title from 9 months ago, but to remember the completion code they gave us as well. #facepalm
I've been communicating with him. He's responded 3 times in the last 15 minutes. I think they're safe, but that's just me.
About half of the ones I did a couple hours ago have approved. YMMV *Edit: They all approved from yesterday.

Measurement may be a new fave requester. They responded quickly to Mturk email, took down the batch with a glitch, and now have a new one up. Polite too. This was a pleasant surprise: "Greetings from Amazon Mechanical Turk, You've received a bonus from Measurement for work related to [edited stuff]. The value of your bonus is: $5.00 USD The Requester included this note: Thanks again for the heads up, and for spreading the word on the forums! The bug should be fixed in the newest batch. --Wynn Thanks for being a Worker on Mechanical Turk!"
I need sleep, otherwise I would've stayed up all night HAMing those. Except since he's new for me personally I don't want to HAM. I'll stick with 22 for now.
I really don't get why nearly everyone in the goddamned world seems to have a nice, normal life but me. I didn't think I was such a piece of **** that I didn't deserve one, but I guess I was wrong. And yeah, I'm venting here because I really don't know where else to do it. Sorry.
*listening to ambient Windham Hills music, grinding through hoarded queue of 25 HITS, all Aaron and Measurement. FYI - if you need to block noise around you (like noisy neighbors, being in a loud coffee shop, etc.), THIS song works great. The lower sounds make an ambient heart beat, and it really has no melody, so it can play on repeat for hours. Blocks noise great, without distracting you with lyrics, etc.
