Last night I did ten hits for Sangwook lee - one hit was rejected, one hit was approved, eight hits are still in pending. (the hit that was rejected said I missed a paying attention question). Anyway this morning I received an email from Amazon that says:

We regret to inform you that you were blocked from working on HITs by the following requester(s):

    Sangwook lee

Requesters typically block Workers who submit poor quality work.

Requesters rely on Mechanical Turk for high quality work results. In order to maintain quality, we continuously monitor service activity. Should additional Requesters block you in the future, we may suspend your account. Please ensure your work quality is at a high standard. We encourage you to read the HIT instructions and follow them carefully.

We realize that this block may be a onetime occurrence for you. Should you maintain high work quality with no further complaints for the next few months we will dismiss this event.

So is this a hard block? Did anyone else have this issue with this requester? The TO's looked good otherwise I wouldn't have touched it. I did add my experience to the TO as well btw.

From what I understand, if Amazon emails you about a block by a requester, it is a hard block.

well that totally bites. My approval is at 98 right now, 2072 hits done. I try to stick with requester with a good TO so things like this don't happen.

you should be very carefull... I think that they allow only three hard blocks at mturk...... If you get three block, then there ends your turking......

I think from what I read here, the 3 hard blocks are not lifetime. It has to be 3 hard blocks within short span of time for your account to be banned.

I had been blocked by the requester productrnr, I contacted the requester and they unblocked me.
I would like to know whether the block still be considered as 1 hard block for my account?

If u got successive blocks within a short span of time, then your account can be in jeopardy. If there are no further blocks in the coming months, then u will be ok

    I am the requester

Hi, I am the requester Neona is talking about
I have responded to few Turkers including Neona who was blocked mistakenly with a script - I responded within few hours.
For each, I've given them bonus and unblocked.
Hope this clarifies - I consider myself a very fair and well paying requester.

I don't know how fast you responded to me because I didn't get a notice from Amazon regarding you after the intial email telling me I was blocked. I sent you a second email and you told me you had already taken care of it - and send me proof. But aside from your sending that too me, I have not heard anything from Amazon saying I've been unblocked or anything else regarding this.

I do appreciate your unblocking this for me but until a few hours ago today I didn't know it was unblocked.
