This wasnt very long, but it was awful! Too much thinking.

 

It was a bit like Russian Roulette in the early days. No TO, no forums, no rejection reversals. On the other hand, there weren't so many people you had to race to get the hits. If you found a nice batch, you made bank.

Sorry it took me a bit to reply. I was doing surveys, making dinner and then helping with the dreaded science fair project.

Sorry about the geography lesson. I tried to be subtle because it's habit. Most people don't have a clue. I did grad school in NM and there are plenty of Americans who don't know that NM is part of the US. Sigh. So knowing Benin is a bit of a stretch.

The responsible part of me wants to get up early tomorrow to get as much turking done as possible. I know stuff starts dropping as the East Coast wakes up, and I miss out by starting late even for the Best Coast.

But the responsible part of me will have to deal with whatever part of me is in charge when I'm warm and just awaking in the morning, and that part seems very strong most of the time.

It was a good lesson for a lot of people. I was mostly teasing, as I'm accustomed at this point to learn about things that I already know.

What you did with your time there is totally admirable and awesome and it's far better than quibbling over phrasing or implications here. But you already knew that.

I'm from Arkansas and half the time people look at my ID like I'm in a foreign country, and it's just New York here.

I got to tutor ESL to elementary school kids for about a year and a half in Arkansas, though, so we're sort of vague colleagues. The sort of association you won't have to make apologies for.
