Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and new to MTurk. It's nice to meet everyone. I found out about MTurk while looking for freelance opportunities outside of what I do on other freelance sites. I came across Paul Goodman, and other information, learned about Turkopticon, and general information about MTurk. I just signed up for my account, and am awaiting approval. I took a look at the Hits, and I kind of understood what was going on, but frankly, a lot of it looked like gibberish to me. I tried to find some resources through Amazon MTurk to explain a bit more about what I was looking at, but failed to find anything. Maybe I just overlooked it. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding a Beginner's Guide that may explain MTurk from a "Dummy's Guide" level? I read some of the posts here, but most of them are above my head at this point. These are the basic steps to get started: Install this chrome extension to allow you to run userscripts https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tampermonkey/dhdgffkkebhmkfjojejmpbldmpobfkfo?hl=en Right-click the new icon to the right of your address bar, click Options, then click the tab to the left of "Installed userscripts" to add a new script Then copy and paste everything from http://userscripts-mirror.org/scripts/review/160501 to the new userscript template in tampermonkey, click save. Goto https://www.mturk.com/mturk/dashboard and you shoud have a new HIT DataBase section to help you track earnings, hits completed, auto-approval times, etc Install this https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/turkopticon/dgefbojfgdddnignhmfmnencgiloojpe?hl=en and when you browse https://www.mturk.com/mturk/findhits you can hover over the red triangle to see aggregate ratings from other users who have experience with the requester Refresh the daily thread in http://mturkforum.com/forumdisplay.php?30-Great-HITs to catch hits posted from other turkers.
