I'd imagine people should sober up as Saturday Night turns into Sunday morning. Hopefully they have muffins.

Sorry that happened to you, that's low. U deserve better then that. And yea I guess it's been hard for me to see not all girls are the same. That was the 4th time in 5 years I caught her cheating. I kept taking her back but now this time she moved in with me, she wasnt working and I supported her. So to walk in an apartment I pay for and see her there half dressed with another guy that was the last straw. I guess in time ill realize not all girls are the same but it's hard.

That must of been so hard on you, all that traveling. Plane tickets definitely aren't cheap anymore! It sounds like you're in a nice area, I love being around the mountains.. I guess living in a desert isn't a huge change from Cali, temperature wise.. No snow I'd imagine, lol.
I can't imagine a place with no income tax, that's amazing! People in Washington get the best of both worlds, lol. I'm definitely in the wrong place living in NYC, haha. We pay for everything! :(

Sorry about your ex bf, what a jerk! Anyone who can do that the night before Christmas Eve is a coward, and you're definitely better off without him :) Sounds like you dodged a major bullet there.

I'm sure a place like NYC has it's upside. I just don't think I'm the type of person that would fit in there. I'm much more of a

Ditto! I'm actually excited because I'm moving to Salem. Which is bigger than Bend. And closer to Portland! IT'S A CITY! ...I miss cities.

Do you think things that are awesome? If so, Portland is for you. There's seriously no city in the country like it. It's not for everybody, but for the people it is for, there's nowhere else.

Note: I don't actually live in Portland, but a suburb of it, but know many many people who live there.

Can you live in the city without a car? Is it really cheap? Are there jobs to be had? Is there a punk rock/ alternative music scene? Those are my questions about portland.

What suburb? My folks thought about moving to the burbs, but, they realized they were moving FROM the burbs (of SF) and decided against it. I'm a huge fan of Tigard/Tualatin for the Bridgeport mall. And I like shopping at Washington Square too.

You know you live in Bend when you miss multi-level shopping and decent ethnic food.

The city has a lightrail system that runs from the center of town about 20 miles in each direction, as well as a pretty good bus system. The lightrail is free to ride in the actual downtown area, so that's nice. OTOH, it can get.....colorful.

The music scene in Portland is imo second to none. You can find any type of music that you want, and usually somebody playing it that night. As far as jobs, I really don't know. I don't think that it's any worse off than any other place. What type of stuff you looking into?

I live in Vancouver right now but will most likely be moving to Gresham in a month or two. Have you had Koi Fusion yet?

It's Japanese ingredients mixed into mexican styles. I like the chicken tacos, but everything has been amazing. Go tomorrow. They are open in Bridgeport from 10 am to 9 pm!

Probably in the restaurant industry, or whatever. What's rent like there? I'm living on the east coast now and have been contemplating a drastic move for a while, Portland was one of the top places me and my buddy have contemplated moving to. Just always heard good things.

There's plenty of those types of jobs if you're willing to work them. Rent is probably lower than the east coast. I'm looking at something like $700-800 for a decent one bedroom that's on the grid. If you're seriously considering it, I would definitely recommend a visit. You'll know after a day or two of wandering around if the city is right for you.
