I wanted to know more about how this works from some one on this forum. I've been browsing this for a while and using a few more avenues to find hits. I'm in the US and Ive been working on Mturk for 8 days my stats:
    Approved HITs $40.48
    Bonuses $0.03
    Total Earnings $40.51
My questions are #1. Is this where I should be just starting off. and number 2 when its says "approved pending payment" Is it only pending because I have'nt worked my first ten days or has the company not payed for the job as of yet.

I'm not quite sure what your first question is, but the answer to your second question is this:

It can be a mix of both. Amazon doesn't release payment for HITs until your first ten days is up, but it could also be the requester. Requesters can take up to 14 days to pay.

You'll have to forgive me, I'm on my phone so IDK if this will post right.

As cowfin stated you should see those become Paid once you've finished your 10 days.

To answer your first question, I'd say whatever you are comfortable with. My personal goal is $5 a day. Anything above that is a bonus. Some people have higher/lower goals. For your first 8 days I'd say that's pretty good especially since you are capped to 100 HIT's per day.

That is actually a pretty impressive amount to acrue in 10 days, especially since you weren't qualified for many of the hits and Amazon limits how many tasks you can do to start. I only dabble on the site now, but I would say $5 a day is what most people work towards.
