Hi. Has anyone done the Liveclicker hits where you create a transcript for a video? The first few videos that I received had no audio, just music, so I returned them but wonder if I should have handled that differently. The next video looks good, and I've accepted the HIT. I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with their style guidelines. It's just one guy talking, so I'm going to break it into paragraphs. If anyone else has input on this requester, who has a good Turkopticon rating, I'd love to hear it. Thanks. /jodi
I saw their HITs this afternoon and did a few to check them out. So far I haven't been paid, but, I only did them about five or six hours ago. A brief style guide would be helpful as I came across one that had three speakers and I wasn't sure how I should label each of them. I checked their website and I can't find any support for transcribers so I emailed them asking for a style guide. I'll post an update if they respond with something useful.
This is what they sent me: "We don't have a style guide, any standard style works. See for example how it's done on youtube, on movie subtitles, or on books." Very ambiguous, but they did reply quickly.
Thanks so much for following up on their reply. That is SO vague. I wonder if I'd accepted the two that were just music and put [music], if I would have been paid.
I had set up a TurkAlert for them, but it seems they're pretty popular. Every time I go to look, all the HITs are gone.
