no hits

    I cant seem to find any hits today what the crap is going on? ive only made 2 dollars im freaking out. I cant even do Oscar Smith hits

    There is a site where people post decent paying HITs and they just had a HUGE surge in new members. On Thursday night alone over 6,000 people joined, most of them didn't have any prior knowledge of MTurk, and they are grabbing whatever work they find suitable.

    Someone asked a 'How do I make more money ?' and the answer pointed them to mTurk, also pointed out there was a subreddit for it so... voila. A butt-ton of new subscribers and lots of them aren't going to last by the looks of it. Let's hope not anyways. Quite a few have been posting things like 'Oh I do 4 surveys at the same time' or saying they just zip thru it auto-clicking and not bothering to read. -smh- Hopefully those types get weeded out quickly.

    I’ve actually posted the link here a time or two.

    There is really no way to hoard mTurk information and keep it private. If you want to succeed in the marketplace, you have to differentiate yourself through quality work.

    It's not unusual for a Saturday, from my experience. And I actually expected the rate of hits to slow while the universities are on summer break, or at least most of them. I'm not very worried, but that's probably because I don't depend on MTurk for my necessities. I just get excited when I'm actually able to buy something that's NOT a necessity. :p

    Sorry....I digress. I really do hope things pick up for the sake of those who are depending on MTurk to be able to make ends meet. :)

    I pop in there now and then myself, but I don't even get close to depending on it to find hits. A decent resource, though.:)

    I guess a great deal of "How to make money online" blogs are booming in the traffic now that it's summer, directing them to Mturk. I'm also guessing a bunch of the new people to that subreddit are under 18.

    That's why I hate it when the weekend comes up because I know speechink always runs out of hits by the time saturday night hits. And the only ones left are the really bad audio quality ones. So I usually can't wait till monday rolls around again. Besides speechink and castingwords, does anyone know another transcription requester?

    There's ClariTrans but I believe they only upload bulk transcription hits twice a week. Also, they are very small audio files they want transcribed between 10 and 35 seconds.
