Yes, if the timer is 5 hours then you'll have to wait until 5 hours after that active one expired.

It is quite annoying getting screened out of a google survey since you are forced to return it and get locked out of any other google stuff through no fault of your own.

I haven't seen this recently but it is possible to do everything right and end up "locked out". I.e. just working from your queue and you get the error message. Try reloading the HIT, might fix it. (There is even a script for it somewhere.) I think this happens if the new hit tries to load before their system registers the old one has been completed -- a second or two later it loads fine. This is rare and I haven't had it happen recently so maybe they fixed it.

    Thanks myopia.

They are finally unlocked. After all these years this was my first time being locked out. Kind of funny.

I'm sure Google has their reasons but Oh Man was that annoying. Still haven't had the survey thing happen to me though and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't ever happen.

I don't know if you guys remember my $0.05 HIT that got rejected wrongly about a week and a half ago? I never did followup after they said they would reverse it and they didn't because I didn't want to pester them over it.
It just in this last hour or so reversed.....yay!

"Participation in this study will take approximately 10 minutes if you are voluntarily participating, or 20 minutes if you are participating through Mechanical Turk."

Well yes, the chains that tie me to the desk and the guy behind me with the whip forcing me to do surveys do tend to cause them to take longer.

Good morning. Where did you find all the penny structures?

    And I tell people,
"Yes, I do some work on one of Amazon's sites."
    "You work for Amazon"
"No, for a few thousand other people."
    "Would you recommend it?"
"Absolutely not. You don't want it"

I love the attention checks that say "This is an attention check." Smart.

Maybe we can make better money making those. One of the local libraries is displaying the Empire State Bldg made of pennies. It's impressive.

I remember when the silver dollar returned a few years ago. Whatever were they thinking? Who would carry around a pocketful of those instead of bills?

If you're in the mood for torturing yourself doing a survey on a phone. Took me 10 minutes, but then I generally describe my phone experience as "doing battle with" instead of just "using".

It is bizarre to me that the US cannot come up with a usable dollar coin. We must be one of the few countries that use paper for such a low denomination. Don't make it big. Don't make it look like a quarter. Make it octagonal, or with different metals in the middle and edge, or much thicker... the possibilities are endless. And then the key step: stop printing dollar bills.

I remember them airing commercials on TV to try to get people to use the "gold" colored dollar coins. Stupid. You use them if you get them. What are you going to do, tell the clerk at 7-11 "no, don't give me paper, give me dollar coins!" You use what you get.
