I may look to purchase a new skin for this forum, because the black/dark style may draw people away from the site. A friend suggested I get some green colors because green = money. What are your thoughts?
The black/gray is classy, but it probably would be easier to read if it was a lighter color. As for green, that sounds good to me (as long as there's enough contrast with the text).
I think a light skin is better. Black is the complete opposite of the mturk site and it can be a turnoff for some visitors (it is for me).
Black is fine, but I agree some other color will suit better. Those who work on computers for long hours will surely prefer some other color. But the text and the background should contrast well, else there will be problem reading the posts.
I don't mind the black myself. But I also don't spend long hours on the forums. I am more a pop-in to see what's up person. Good luck with your decision. I agree, it must contrast well for readability. If I have to highlight the text to try and read it, its definitely going to cause me to visit less.
Wow, I opened one post and the forum was black; opened another, and the forum was green! Although I didn't mind the original colors, I'm already finding this one much easier to read. Nice change!
By the way, just on the off chance someone prefers the dark one, you can change back via User CP->Edit Options->Forum Skin. *I mean, "they can change it back for themselves"
Hi Andy, I love this color, it is easy to read. I saw the color option at the bottom of the page, so I know I can change it to dark color if I wish. Anyway I prefer this color. Thanks.
