We are a non-profit CS research group, trying to collect data for a baseline for artificial intelligence work. We are however having trouble attracting enough people to our HIT. (which is here: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/searchbar?selectedSearchType=hitgroups&requesterId=AU94KNSN7AFVE)

I would love feedback on how we can make this work more appealing to you folks. Our budget is constrained, but if you honestly feel we are offering too little, we could probably increase that, but non-monetary improvement suggestions would also be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    10 video clips @ ~ 30 seconds each

Five minutes, minimum. Then searching for each location.

    Let's say 50 cents a pop.
    One job every 5 minutes = $6/hr
But it would take longer than that to do the search and input.
For an involved task I don't see a lot of people doing the work for that pay, unless they really enjoy it. I've noticed a big increase in geocoding work on mturk.

I have to say I agree with Whimsy. The pay is far to low for many turkers to even look at. Also, it may have something to do with the "score_qual_10km is less than 8" qualification. It may be easier for those who want to do the hit if you had a test for a qual instead of a request. I have found that many new requesters don't even know they have to manually assign the qual when they have an option like that.
