Why in this digital age when we have such excellent online payment systems like paypal and skrill, Mturk still uses ordinary mail to send checks. Many of us who are earning like $300 or more every month, won't give a damn about paying the extra $4 to receive money by paypal or skrill. Even if Mturk will say that paypal belongs to their rival ebay, what about skrill, it's as good as paypal and has the same charges(4%). And I'm sure there must be many more electronic money transfer methods which are as cheap and good as paypal. Odesk has 6 different kinds of money transfer for Indians including direct deposit to bank account, paypal and skrill. Maybe they should start electronic money transfer as an opt-in service. Who wants it can apply for it and those who are happy with snail mail can go with that. There must be many Indian banks who would just love to handle the corporate salary account on behalf of mturk as they already do for companies like Wipro and Infosys.
Not gonna happen my friend. Indian workers have been begging Amazon for such a system for 3 years now. If not for an online payment system, at least for speed post/ registered mail, but to no avail. Amazon cares a shit, whether Indians get their money or not.
