    A. How long does it take for your registration to be approved? I've been waiting almost 24 hours and I'm kind of worried about being denied.

    B. Does Mturk have a specific email I can add to my email list, so that I can be sure all their emails go to me, and not my spam folder?

    C. If I do not add a bank account to mturk, all the money will sit on my Amazon account, where I can make direct purchases correct? Will the balance show up as a gift card balance, or a regular amazon balance?

    D. How much do you guys average an hour? I currently do all my work over eBay, so I'm online at least 10 hours a day. :) I'm not looking to get rich, but at 10 hours a day, I'm hoping to earn an extra $125. - $150.00 a week for savings money.

    E. How many surveys are usually available on here at one time, that actually pay? I prefer to take allot of surveys.

Hope I don't take to much of you guys time, and help to these questions will be really appreciated!

It takes 48 hr to get approved.
    There is no such email.
Yes you can make purchase via gift card
Average earning depends on your skills and luck.
Making 100$ a week is easy if you spend 10hr daily.

Hey, so how do you transfer the money from Turk Machanical to my Amazon account? Or does it automatically transfer it to my amazon account? And how long after you complete each task, does it take for them to credit your account on average?

And its great to hear, I can easily make $100. a week, spending 10 hours a day. I'm just looking for an extra earnings each week, to put in savings!

Where are you from? If you're American making $100 a week is possible with about 2-5 hours work daily on busy days. If you do 10 hours daily you could make as much as $40-50 bucks a day on a good day (more...but i've never had that good a day)
If you're not you may not make as much money.

Your funds (once approved & paid by requesters) will just be available in your Amazon Payments account. You just choose "Use Available Balance" as your payment option when you check out.

Registrations are currently taking longer than usual to approve, but I think they've got it down to less than a week to approve now. But only in the U.S. -- outside countries are not currently being accepted.

And don't listen to anyone that says they can get an overseas account approved -- you'll end up getting banned and forfeiting any money you make. Good luck!

I am from Florida and I was approved the minute I signed up. I had no idea people waited to get approved. Maybe it's because I have a business account with Amazon. Welcome michaelandmeganc!

Flora, thanks for the info. For some reason, mine didn't get straight approved. I can't wait to get started though, as long as I honestly get paid, I will do honest work to the best of my capability.

Here is the message I got:
We are reviewing your account. This process typically takes 48 hours.

We will send you an email when we have completed the review of your account. Check your inbox for a message from Mechanical Turk. If you need to update your email address, please log into www.amazon.com and select “Your Accountâ€￾ to update your email address.

I thought I was doing well when I average $1.00 a day but I see other people here getting $10 - $100 a day or more which is darn good. More time you spend here, the more you earn. Also depends what kind of HITS you do. I don't do the transcribing or write an article, which offer more, because I am not good at those. I do surveys.

It varies for everyone but for me, $1.00 a day is good enough for me. I'm happy to get what I can get.

Been doing this three years, and a typical day for me is between $5 and $10. But every once in a while I latch onto something I can stand to do that pays something close to minimum wage. I once made $75 in a single day, and a couple of times I made $50.

Depends on how picky you are about what hits you'll do, (some mturk tasks are painful,) how much time you have to spend on the site, luck, and the use of resources like TO and this site. If you don't have Turkopticon, download it immediately. It works on Firefox or Chrome.

You might be stuck waiting a little longer due to the holiday. A friend of mine applied and it took a few days, but she also had to wait over a weekend.

When I first started Turking, my goal was $50/month. Now I aim for $25/day and try to get at least one $50+ day each week. Starting out, it's hard to really set a daily goal.

First, you have the 10 day newbie period where your payments are withheld and you have a limit of 100 HITs per day. Your 10 day period is the first 10 days on which you do at least 3 HITs. They do not have to be consecutive or business days, just 10 days of doing at least 3 HITs.

Also, many better paying HITs don't open up until you reach a certain number of approved HITs (500, 1000, 5000, etc) or a certain approval rating (98-99% approved is generally the goal of seasoned workers). And many require qualifications that are currently closed to new workers.

The best thing you can do is hit that 10 day mark as quickly as possible, avoid bad HITs, and then start setting daily goals for yourself.

Thanks for the valuable information. I'm sure it is just a waiting game. Thanks for informing me about the 10 day period. That was new information to me. I'm hoping to earn maybe $20.00 - $30.00 a day at least after my first 14 days. I have access to the computer 24 hours a day though. =]

Glad to help. Yes being around a computer all the time is definitely a plus, because in order to make a decent living around here you have to be ready to pounce when a good batch of HITs is posted or you're likely to miss out -- the good ones go fast unless the qualified workpool is small (not often).

Another tip I wish someone would have told me is don't be afraid to contact requesters. It's important to communicate on forums like this with other workers, but it's just as important, if not more so, to maintain contact with requesters, particularly if it's one you plan to work with long-term.
