How can I download the audio files for CastingWords HITs to use in ExpressScribe, etc.? I can only seem to find the player within Firefox. If it matters, I am on a Mac.

    Click on this: [IMG]
Then, save file or save frame.

save frame is the option that appears for me. However, when I save it, it only allows me to save as a web archive file, which I can not load into ExpressScribe. My computer wont allow me to save as an mp3. Is there a Firefox downloading script available or something to download with?

    Hiya,

You may also need to try right-clicking instead; I have to do that in Chrome (when running Windows).

I'm not sure why saving the frame would work---I would think that would just save you a visual image but not the audio file linked to? If you don't get Save File, see if clicking or right-clicking gets you the option Save Link As, which will work as well.

One more suggestion: I have also used Copy Link Location, which copies the address for that MP3 file. Then you open another browser (I'm not sure what you have on Mac) that you know will download an MP3 in a link, not play it. Paste the copied link into the web address bar there, and use the other browser to get just the file.

ETA: Oh! And make sure you are clicking on the actual words Get Audio. Not just in that general area.

Regular clicking only pauses/plays it. And right clicking is what gives me the Save Frame option. I guess Ill try copying the link tomorrow. Thanks for your help!

Sure---hope you figure it out without too much more trouble. Copy Link Location is another menu choice I get when right-clicking...not sure how to get you there on a Mac. But good luck, and post if you want us to try and help more!

You could also consider writing to their CS. They're pretty good about helping with everything.

Thanks for all your help guys, I got it figured out. I just had to try a few more of the options that popped up on a right click. For me, it was "save link as" and then it was in mp3 format. Thanks for the help!
