I'm disgusted with this Garth, as I did a number of them as well. Check out his ratings on Opticon. He just scammed a lot of people. In my opinion, he violates The Department of Labor's codes, and our own constitutional rights. I'm tired of being taken advantage of, and I'm starting to report these guys to the Department of Labor, along with Amazon. Everyone that pulls these scams. At first I could understand if it just happen to me, or someone else or two, but look at his reviews just these past few days! He's getting everyone. I found out his work information and found his facebook, along with more information. I sent an email to his work, and to his facebook, if no response to his actions, it's simple. Report him.

I still can't help but wonder if it is only people who did hits on 10/3 that he is blocking

Seems to be. I worked for him on 10/1, and I got all of mine approved just now, and have not gotten blocked. Will be avoiding his HITs from now on.

I had the same situation. I guess we know who not to work for from now on!

All of mine from the first were approved as well, letting that relief wash over me.

I honestly don't have the slightest clue. This won't go down well, but looking at all the people talking about a pattern, it might be a glitch. If not, maybe he is trying to save budget. Either way he should not be blocking people.

He approved all mine from the 1st. Out of all the HITs of his I did, I only marked two as inappropriate on the 3rd. So maybe he rejected any that were marked that way. Lesson learned though... if it seems too good to be true..

    Hi all!

This is my first posting here but I wanted to chime in to say that I as well have had a bad experience with this requester. I did 85 HITS for him on October 1, all of which were finally approved this evening. On October 3, I did 90 HITS for him which 6 of them were rejected without reason. I sent him friendly feedback asking why the tasks were rejected and when I might expect the previous to be approved. This morning, I received a notice that I had been blocked. Not sure what's up with him but I did contact Amazon regarding the situation.

I did eleven on the 1st and all were approved. It's too bad he just won't explain to everyone why he did what he did instead of blocking everyone. It doesn't say much about his character.

I did a bunch on 10/1 and they all approved. I don't plan on doing any more of his hits after he screwed over so many people, though. Hopefully he fixes this.

    Nooooo!

"We regret to inform you that you were blocked from working on HITs by the following requester(s):

    Garth Gehlbach"

My only block, this sucks. D=
Am I still able to message/email this requester? This is messed up, all my Hits were approved by him! Or is there contact info somewhere? Thank you

I, too, got an email Sunday saying I was blocked after all my HITs were approved by him. I contacted Amazon and this is what they said...

    Hi Roxy,

I am sorry for any concerns caused by the recent email you received about the block on your account from Garth Gehlbach.

I've reviewed your account and confirmed that this was just an admin block. Please let me assure you that this block should not effect the status of your account. When you have completed a HIT, Requesters will often block you from completing more HITs for them so that new tasks aren’t completed by the same Workers twice. This is perfectly normal, and Requesters will usually lift the blocks once the current set of HITs have been completed.

This process should not result in an email being sent to you. We are looking into why an email was sent in this case. We are also encouraging Requesters to use qualifications instead of blocks to manage their workforce.

Once again, please accept our apologies for the misunderstanding.

Thank you for your patience and participation in Mechanical Turk.

    Best regards,

    Bogdan N.

Thank you for your inquiry. Did I solve your problem?

For some people this was their 3rd hard block and it got their accounts suspended :(

Yeah, I read that! It really sucks and I hope that Amazon can and will help those whose accounts did get suspended!

What ever happened with the blocks? Does anyone know if they were reversed? Or if there is a way to find out besides emailing amazon?
