I am at a 99% approval rating. I found out by trial and error that it is good to accept easy, low paying HITS to jack up your approval rating. Otherwise, I might only be at 90-95% right now.
I am new to Mtruk and have just began understanding the statistics and what they mean. I was going to hits and then rejecting them or abandoning them not knowing how that was affecting my stats... I blame my toddler for most of those abandonned hits... I would get started on one and then need to leave the computer. Needless to say, I have a low approval rating at the moment!
I don't even think I have an approval rating yet. I'm just trying to post 10 messages on this board so that my first hit can be accomplished.
If you don't have a lot of HITs under your belt, every rejection really hurts. When I first started out, I wish Aimee had been around to give me advice about starting out with tons of the easy, low-paying HITs to build up a buffer to protect yourself.
I am 90(and something)%.......... and I trully hope that one day I will have much more and do hits which require 95 and earn some real money......))))))))))
That's what I'm doing at the moment. Building up a good buffer, although those are the types of ones I like to do anyway, so I'm lucky.
currently my hit approval rate is 90.i have completed 250 hits and my total earnings are $25.00.Its really good working with mturk .In order have good earnings go for reviews...
Ok I am at 99.8 for approval is that as high as you can get ? I am thinking it is . Also just how does the stat for throwing them back effect you ? I may need improvement in this area !
The maximum's actually 100.0% ... mine are Approved 2829 100.0% Rejected 1 0.0% I don't think the stats for throwing back or abandoning HITs would have any effect though I suspect (could anyone confirm?) if your abandonment rate gets too high maybe Amazon might do something to you .... My HIT returns are slightly over 5% because I very often just take up a random HIT and return it to get rid of the captchas which I suspect appear once every 20 HITs submitted so that I could get my hands on those HITs that disappear very quickly (i.e. those in which the time taken to enter the captcha would have caused you to get a 'the HIT you are viewing cannot be accepted')
I am with Aimmee I am at a 96% approval ( first time I get a lot of rejection on here from a certain requester) I do a variety of hits and over the course of six months I made over 900.00 including bonuses.... Great spending cash!
Although requesters could post HITs which require a low return and/or abandonment rate, I've yet to see a HIT with any such requirements.
Unfortunatelly, I'm at 88.2, because I trusted a guy and did a lot of HITs for him and, as a "reward", he rejected a lot of them, even if they were correct. These guys really make me angry.

The dashboard shows my HITS Approval rate of 99.9% But I cannot work on HITs that require: > "HIT approval rate (%) is greater than 99 > ... You do not meet this qualification requirement" Too bad 99.9% is not considered "greater than 99" ;-)
