This HIT titled 'Cognitive Psychology Task' (by the Requester CSEP) asks you to complete a survey at http://surveymonkey.com/readingstrategysurvey (apparently, in the HIT, the link is wrongly inserted in the text. In the HIT, it is: Please right-click here and OPEN IN A NEW WINDOW OR TAB to fulfill this HIT.). One of the requirements for the HIT is to 'Enter the number generated for you (to confirm payment)'. However, at the end of the survey, there's no number generated for you. I wasted my time & got conned. Hope sharing this will save someone else's time & efforts.
I didn't do the Hit because it says 50c in the Hit but only 5c in the reward column. Tricky!!! But in general, if that happens to you, justfight, submit the Hit anyway, with a note saying that you didn't get the code, and add the url of that last page (ususally with a "Thank you for completing our survey" etc). I have been paid for surveys that had that flaw, have even been thanked by requesters for pointing it out. Sometimes it's just an honest mistake on their part. Don't know about this one though, it really looks suspect ...
I was gonna mention that too, but left it out for some reason I can't recollect as of now. I was thinking of that, but didn't wanna get hit by a rejection. I'd like to maintain my HIT Approval Rate & won't risk it for a mere $0.05. As you said, it looked quite suspicious & I wasn't too keen to confirm my suspicions!!!
