Hi! I'm new here and I currently have a task running on amazon. I saw the forums and thought I'd stop by to see what people discuss. However, it seems like one of the biggest issues here is with Requestors. I believe in making short and simple tasks, and paying out asap, so i monitor my task constantly. So I was wondering if you guys had any additional suggestions on being a reputable requestor?

Also if there was ever a task offered which payed out $1+ for simply filling out a short account and confirming it, would that motivate you to participate? (Just curious, no links will be posted)

    Thanks for the time,
    Jonathan

I am not sure what kind of task you have in mind. I think there shouldn't be any problem unless your Hits are in violation of TOS. Check here: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=policies.

When I check out Hits what I look for is a decent wage, prompt payment and open channels of communication to solve any doubts or problems.

First off yeah stick to the TOS, anything that goes against that will be ignored and probably reported by the experienced workers, leaving you with those who don't know any better.

But there are three major things, outside TOS compliance, that most experienced workers look for:

    1) Fair pay. Don't have a five page, detailed driven hit listed for .05 cents a hit because if you do then you won't get many if any takers. The biggest mistake most new requestors make is undervaluing our time, most of us who have been around Turk for a while work hard at it and strive to do well, as is shown by our usually near perfect approval scores. Basically if you wouldn't take the hit for the pay, then we won't.

    2) Communicate with the Turkers. If a Turker emails you with a legitimate complaint, technical issue, or question then it is in your best interest to communicate with them adequately and within reason. Turkers hate requestors that ignore legit issue based questions, because if we ask a question then it means something isn't complete within your hit, that you've left out an instruction, crafted a bad hit, or something like that. We don't ask questions often or talk to requestors often, but if you blow us off we complain our butts off in the forums and rate you guys badly online.

    3) Have work up. It helps you if you try to have hits for completion as often as your business needs allow. This lets you build up a base of Turkers who recognize you, know you are good to work with, and will reliably do your hits.

Hope these thoughts helped somewhat :).

When I see a new requester whose hits interest me, I do a few of the hits, then wait for approval. Only after I get those hits approved am I willing to do more hits. Also, that leads me to post a positive review on TechList, which will lead to others taking your hits.

If I were a new requester, I would quickly approve/reject that first batch of hits - within minutes or hours.

Thanks for asking for our suggestions!
