Hi folks.. I know this was discussed before this week and there was another thread started.. but I was hoping maybe we could nail down this issue and put it into play and see how it goes. People have been talking about having a separate daily thread for batch hits. After thinking about it I actually think this could be very helpful. As many of you know and see, I am very active in the great hits section and I focus all my attention on batches. Would you guys feel comfy if I started the thread each day? And if so, should I put it here in the general forum section, or in the great hits section and just create the daily thread? RW and Andy and everyone else please chime in on this
I don't mind who starts it all so I would have no probs with you starting the thread. I am actually trying to get into doing batches a lot more I'm just never sure where to start aside from the CS and CF ones. I know there's others but not ones that post all the time as far as I know.
I'm ok with it, as long as batch hits were still allowed to be posted in the regular thread as well. Sometimes keeping up with two threads can be difficult, but I can understand the desire to have a separate thread if batches are the only thing you do. I do a mix of both, but prefer batches to surveys.
I like the idea, It'd be of great use for me, I always have trouble finding good batches to do. And I don't mind who starts it.
Thanks guys.. I would not control who puts the batches where.. I just think this should be tested for a few reasons. Maybe when I start it everyday I can say it would be helpful to people who are posting the hit here to also do it in the other thread. I can also get with RW or post a message daily in the other thread saying the same thing until people get the hang of it.. I was thinking of trying this for a couple of weeks and seeing what happens and get feedback. Everyone has their own idea of what a "good" batch is, but posting any batch hits for people is a good thing
are you saying to keep batch hits under the great threads daily, or to go into the the great hits section and post a daily thread?
Yea I am sure it would also.. but I have noticed many people saying their should be a separate thread for batches.. I am just throwing the idea out there

Hey Football: If you want to try a separate "Batch" HITs thread in the "Greatest HITs" group I think it would be OK to try out... I'll do my best to monitor it the way you want it run - whether you want just HITs only with limited discussion or a full on chat room like the daily thread... Just let me know what you want. Please, if possible, keep it to the same format so people know what they are looking for/at. ie: "Batch HITs Only... 10/20" Or something like that - but just keep the title consistent from day to day - that will be key to its success. When all is said and done - I agree with Andy - It may be hard to keep it from becoming another chat thread with cross posts all over. But it is worth a try. Let me know how I can help if you choose to follow through. And yes... It would be another thread under the Greatest HITs discussion. But NOT in the same thread as "Can't Find Good HITs"
Thanks for the input guys. After reading these and some thought maybe it is best to just keep all the hits in one spot so people do not have to bounce back and forth
I say we test it out Monday through Wednesday next week, then run a poll on Thursday. Then, decide whether or not to have this thread based on the results of the poll. If it works out, then we keep the thread. If not, at least we tried it.
the thing with batch hits though it that it is hard to pick a specific format like you have in the current thread.. for some people it could take 20 seconds to do a hit while others it takes 2 minutes.. hmm..
I am very new here, but I found the great hits thread rather tedious because of all the chatter. (as great as the hits and chatter may be) It would be nice to have the hits and chatter separated, and then maybe the batch hits and regular hits wouldn't be as hard to find. Maybe people could put a title on their posts for the specific type of HIT it is? For ex: Survey or Batch Idk, just a suggestion.
unfortunately there will always be chatter no matter how the threads are set up.. from what I have seen the majority of people title their posts with survey or batch.. we just need everyone to get into the habit thanks for the input it is much appreciated
