Is anyone else getting the qualtrics surveys going really slow or hanging up? Also, it keeps telling me that I can't use my browser's back button, if though I didn't leave my page or hit 'back'. Anyone else getting this? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Yes, yesterday, I was shut out of one when I couldn't get the window to open in the first place. I would of returned it if given the opportunity. Seems to be a rash of malware also. Don't know if it is coming from turk or elsewhere. Just know, I didn't have this problem until I started doing this. I don't open things my anti virus ware tells me not to, however, I spent all day yesterday on phone with HP because I-E crashed. Chrome, I took out because on youtube, only malware runs and I couldn't stand it anymore and when it took over Chrome it opened a window from a Hit I had done. HP helped me get some of this stuff out as they left my computer unprotected yesterday while trying to fix it and told me it was protected. Well, when I checked McAfee, it wasn't running. So that was another hour on phone with them. Now I have to back up my system, which I should anyway, and let HP unload/ reload whatever it is they reload to fix this. FireFox appears to work fine. And I'm someone who tries to be very careful what I do on the Internet so Be Very Careful. And yes, this has happened with more than just that one hit.

Hmmm. That is strange. I am using Chrome and this just started a few days ago. I am running anti-virus and it usually catches them when I visit sites with trojans and stuff. It caught a few since I started turking, and I ran a scan and it said everything was fine. Everything else seems to run ok, and it only seems to hang up on Qualtrics surveys. It's taking me twice as long as everyone else to do a survey. I can't figure out what's causing it.

I can't figure out why it keeps popping up a window telling me not to hit my browser's back button either. I hit the 'next' arrow button and after 30 sec. or so, the window pops up telling me not to hit my browser's back button. Can't figure it out.

Try them in Fire Fox. Never I-E. I used IE for browsing only. Have you tried unloading and reloading Chrome? I don't know if it would work. I haven't attempted reloading yet. Am afraid too.

I've reloaded Chrome and so far so good. Fingers crossed. Anti virus ware is not to be counted on. Learned that yesterday. HP tech did use a Norton root kit to get rid of some of the stuff. He still had to use some of the things I found on the Internet to get rid of the worst of my attack. Nothing is safe these days. Proceed with caution.

Sage, I seem to be the only one trying to help in this forum anyway. I don't know much. Here's what I've done this morning. I checked it with CNET and downloaded it thru their site so the download would be clean - look up Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. It's a free version that takes out the creepy stuff hiding in your computer that causes freaky things to happen. Find the CNET review. It's good. Hope that helps both of us.
    That's all.

Thank you Anne53. I'm not sure why no one else is answer this, as I am sure we are not the only ones having this issue, but maybe they don't know either. LOL Yes, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I have spent the whole day trying to nail down the problem. I uninstalled Chrome, re-installed it. Checked my anti-virus, scripts, etc. I can't figure it out. Emptied caches etc. My firefox doesn't run very fast either. I have recently upgraded my dsl about a week ago so it shouldn't be that. I did notice that both my FF and Chrome browsers tend to freeze quite a bit. So, I"m not sure. I am going to try what you suggested and thank you very much for your help!

You are welcome. I don't know too much. Just kind of search and read carefully. That's why I checked the CNET site. Don't want more problems. The Anti Malware seems good. It found alot of stuff and I just told it to get rid of it all. Haven't checked youtube in Chrome since running a full scan so don't know if that is fixed. I had one survey have a problem finding a page but it worked out and I completed it. Good luck and if I learn anything else I'll let you know, but I think that's all I can figure out.
