I did one just like that a couple of hours ago, and all I did was frame the entire photos and put a row of OOOOOO in the name category. They'll figure it out. :p

And.....Canada addresses go in the same fields as the US addresses, right?

    Hi,

When I enquired with Oscar Smith about this problem, I got the following reply:

If you come across foreign language cards, please write "foreign language card" in the name field and if there are some other images instead of a card, then please enter "not a business card" in the name field and submit the hit instead of returning the same.

I think this will be helpful to you.

    With regards,

    V. Karthikeyan

Out of curiousity how does everyone deal with the "click on the logo" portion? I asked OS but didn't get a response and I've done a few HITS for him that all got approved. Mostly just to check it out since he puts so much work out there. I have been doing just what it says- I frame the logo and just click on it. Is this correct or is he just being nice and approving my work anyway? I've only done like 6 HITS of his so far. But they are fun for a change from my writing and transcription stuff.

For the case of Oscar Smith HITs you don't have to worry about a rejection. I see that there is an half hour auto approval, so no worries of rejection. For the case of logo just crop the logo, no need for the clicks. Just have to crop the logo in the box to the best fit. Hope you got my point.

I think the "clicking" they refer to is just the last subtle click you do to set the boundary frame in place.

When Oscar is making me crazy, I come here and find peace.:p

I do love learning about not having to struggle through the foreign language ones. :D

And here's another question: Zip codes---just five numbers or all nine when listed?

And another: websites---if they just put the name of the site with no "www", do we add the "www"?
If they have http://www.----do we put all that, or just "www"?

I sent a list of questions to Oscar and still haven't heard back from him. Still waiting after five days.

zipcodes : They are 5 for US and some times comes in the card with some extra digits, then put as it is. So put the zip code as it is. Also for Canada zip codes there is some spacing and some letters you can do this just type as it is there. Hope I solved that ! :)

Websites : I am dealing this way. If the website is given as like www.ibm.com then me will type it as www.ibm.com
If the website address is like this http://www.ibm.com, then me will type it as http://www.ibm.com
So the key point is to type as it is there. Hope I solved that ! :)

You're a patient man, riazam. I got the web address down now .....with one tiny missing detail. I'm assuming that when the web site address is without the lead "http or www" we at least add the "www" as the help tab shows, correct? (no need to answer that, really)

And Canada phone is international......and the only data that goes in the State and Zipcode fields is US data exclusively, not Canadian provinces or zips, right?

I think these two issues are the main reasons behind my 86 score, down from 90, so I really appreciate your assistance. :D

It's not the .02 that pulls me, it's the challenge to figure this all out so I can stop feeling like a lab rat. :p

    @Noliah
    For the case of

Web : You can enter as it is there.
So to make it clear. If the web address is ibm.com have to put as ibm.com and if it is in the card as www.ibm.com then have to type as it is www.ibm.com. The main key is type what you see, and avoid what you don't find.

Please note the point that don't make guess from the email address the domain name as there can be slight differences between them.

"And Canada phone is international......and the only data that goes in the State and Zipcode fields is US data exclusively, not Canadian provinces or zips, right?"
Sorry, I didn't get what you mean by that.

For the case of my patience:
    @all and Noliah
No matter how many questions you ask, the only thing is I wanted to clear your doubts and help you all. So ask so many questions and clear your doubts

:D That info for the web addresses is definitely going to make a difference, I'm sure. I've been entering them all the same way, so I have no doubt it had something to do with the drop in my score.

And as far as the Canadian addresses, I did get a reply for that query from Oscar. I wasn't quite sure how to enter the city, state, and zip (on an added line or in the city, state, zip fields). I used to do data entry, and my former employer had me list Canadian cities the same as US. But to the contrary, Oscar said to list Canadian as an international, without the "Int'l" designation line, and to not use the US city, state, zip fields. Also to enter the Canadian phone numbers as international. So, problem solved.;)

These two issues were a thorn in my side and I really was hoping for a definitive answer. I hate clutter and confusion, and the Oscar hits were making a mess in my mind. :p

And now.....(drum roll)....if their title says something like, "Ringmaster, Elephant division".....do I put just Ringmaster, or add the division? This has made me pause sometimes as I try to decide whether certain titles call for me to add the division or department as well. And please tell me that "Star Achiever" is not a title. I will be sad for the person if it is.

It's my opinion that anyone who gets all these rules straight in their mind deserves more than .05 a hit. :)

    Muchas gracias, riazam!!!

Hello again my friends! I have a new question for you all. When an address is listed as

    "Linuxcare, Inc.
    650 Townsend Street
    San Francisco, CA 94103"

Listed on the business card, and you've already put the Linuxcare, Inc in the business line, do you still add it to your address? Or do you leave that part off?

Also, when you click for an international phone number, when you enter it, do you just enter the numbers or do you add the ( ) if the printed card shows it?

    Thanks friends!

    See some examples.
    Title : Ringmaster, Elephant Division
    Title : Manager, Purchase Division
    Title : CEO / Founder
    Title : Chief Executive Officer

I don't know about Star Achiever.
