I started doing HITs on MTurk on February 8th, 2012.
I have submitted 300 HITs, and have 45 in pending.

The ones that are approved say "Payment pending", is this normal?
When should I expect payment? I heard Amazon just says that until you have worked for about 10-14 days, is this correct?

Please respond as soon as possible. :D

Probably next week you will begin to see approved HIT's reading 'Paid' rather than 'pending'. I cant promise what the amount of days are, but I believe it is 10. Also, it depends on who you are turking for and if they pay quickly or not. Many of the requesters I turk for pay within 2 days. I will often see 'Payment Pending' within the day and then followed by 'Paid' within 2 days. Hope that helps.

That does help some, so thanks!

One other thing. I thought that when the HIT went from Pending to Approved, that means the payment automatically goes through. So does that mean my balance from all approved HITs shown aren't guaranteed, and that the person could still not pay me?

I've only been turkin' it up for about 2 months, I'm no vetran myself. That being said, I have yet to encounter a HIT bing approved yet not getting paid. However, you may have $5.00 worth of approved HIT's for instance and you have $1.00 of which are for a slow requester which are approved, yet not paid. Therefore the balance in your Amazon Payments account not be exactly the same as your Mechanical Turk dashboard. At least thats the way it seems to me.

Sorry, I didnt finish the thought. Meaning your dashboard may say you've earned $5.00 while your Amazon Payment account says $4.00. But your Amazon Payment account will remain at 0.00 until you cross the threshold, however long that is.

    Thanks.

I guess I will wait till about the 18th or 22nd and see if I receive any payments on my accepted tasks. I am at about $38 in accepted tasks.

No worry for the case of "Payment pending" that means you got paid already. The problem with the thing you will have to worry is if a HIT is waiting for approval, then it is in pending state. When the requester will approve you will get payment.

So put in other way is that if there is a approval that money is yours, otherwise your work is rejected. Hope that answers your question/doubt... :)

If your HITs are approved that means you got your money, I never seen a reduction in my account for any reason. Pending are not guaranteed except for the case of Oscar Smith HITs for the workor Business cards. I am telling this because I never have got a rejection from Oscar's HITs even if I made some mistakes.

For the case of doubt in the amount you have you just go to this link https://www.mturk.com/mturk/youraccount
Which will tell you how much amount you have really in your account and that is the amount you can withdraw from your account. Hope that all clear your doubts. I am working with MTURK more than one year you can PM me for any doubts.

I am finally having payments go through. I have $48.77 in accepted HITs, but only $9 in my account balance.

Is it possible I won't get paid, even if the jobs were accepted?
