From my understanding the CS writing qual is almost impossible to obtain. I think writing hits are probably some of the best hits for the time and money if you are good at it.. I am going to start looking into writing hits when batches slow down

i've done maybe a dozen over the past few days and they've all been approved.
i think a big key if you don't know about the topic is just rewriting an existing article and paying attention to any special indications - he had a bunch last night that were being targeted for a specific website, the one i did on the mlb playoffs said to mention stats, things like that.

but i don't think he's asking for anything out of the ordinary, just well-written, grammatically correct articles that stay on topic. i try not to do ones i would have to research that much because it would add too much time to the work. but for example, i did 'famous horses in history' and '5 fantastic koala bear facts' last night and the research took very little time at all. most of the info was pulled off websites with the exact same topic and bits and pieces of wikipedia. just don't copy sentences, restate them in different words, move the structure around a bit. that's about all... and of course, make sure you have the proper word count...

Matchett is a good requester. I have done about 7 or so for him always approved. Most of these go on product sites (for distributors) or review sites (if you try you can find them after you submit them thanks to the google machine). Some do take research. The one I did on filtration using forward osmosis was fun (or not). Whether its a good value for the time is hard to say.

you have to take the top-tier writing qualification hit which is posted fairly frequently, since i've been turking it seems to always be a 'dos and don'ts' article selected from a variety of topics...

Thanks for the info, everyone. I will keep an eye out for anything that looks reasonably easy and go for it.

That's crazy! I've read a bit about how you file taxes by doing mturk work. I know if you make more than $400 a year you have to pay taxes on it. Have you had to file your MTurk work in the past?

Anyone know how much of a sum is taken out is over that amount? I am still below the limit, so I am not too concerned yet, but I really like the work, so I imagine I'll have to deal with it in the future.

yeah, i had my doubts about it being worth the time as i'm much more used to academic and business writing, this is a lot more casual, and he's a good requester, i think if there's an issue with anything he'd definitely let you know, so just grab one the next time he posts them, which seems to be late nights for those on EST, or EDT, or whatever east coast time is right now, and it gets pretty easy and efficient quickly...

i think it's the same rules as regular taxes. as a contractor, you don't have to pay taxes unless you received more than $600 from a particular client (aka requester) in that fiscal year, i don't think it's tied into your total amount but i could be wrong...

From my understanding, it's over $600 a year from any ONE requester.

Just got a rejection from requester Eran Toch. It was the facebook survey that you had to sign in for...

It was like 5 questions for $.70. his reason?

combination of the following: a very short completion time and inconsistent answers

Really? Of course I have a short completion time! It was like 5 questions! How can I have inconsistent answers with only 5 questions!? GRR! Anyone else get rejected by him?

EDIT: I got approved from him in the past...I think..
