Huizhong Chen mass rejected a bunch of people for no good reason on a " Name Guessing Game" HIT. you look at a picture and guess their name out of around ten options. Then he rejects you with this response "You response time is too fast to carefully assign the name to the face image." How to you guess a name too fast? Do not work for this requestor he is totally unfair and will ruin your rating.
Huizhong Chen has violated the fair work practice by MASS REJECTING a mturk workers on the " Name Guessing Game" HIT. This assignment was to look at a picture and GUESS their name out of around ten options. This is a 100% subjective process with NO right/wrong answer. STILL, Mr. Chen reject MASS REJECTED with the following computer generated response "Your response time is too fast to carefully assign the name to the face image." ARE YOU SERIOUS? Mr. Chen BEST get a timer application for his hits because this is unlawful discrimination toward work completed that he REFUSES to pay for and SIMULTANEOUSLY he has MASS LOWERED APPROVAL RATINGS for those who devoted their time to HIS work project. NOW, these workers can get access to jobs that BEFORE Mr. Chen they were QUALIFIED FOR AND IN GOOD STANDING. Do NOT, NOT work for this requestor he is A COMPLETE FRAUD.
Just came home to find 45 rejections from this guy!! Wow, I was so mad. I came on the forum right away, and I'm surprised to see It happened to a lot of other people. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE! I have already e-mailed the requester, but I'm not sure that will do much good.
If you have very specific time expectations, your instructions should be equally specific. I don't think workers should be held responsible for this, it is the requester's fault for not taking the time to be clear, or set up a timer. How on earth can you expect people to give you the results you want when you aren't clear about what you want?
For anyone that did them and did not get any rejections, please tell us approximately the time it took you to do one. I guarantee yall that the people with no rejections did them the same time as us, and the only difference is that they didn't do a lot of them. which makes me think that.... You response time is too fast to carefully assign the name to the face image. is a COVER UP/ RANDOM EXCUSE TO MASS REJECT. If it wasn't then all of my hits I submitted to him would be rejected and not only half when I did them at about the same speed.
Dear AMT turkers, I sincerely apologize that my rejection rules were too strict, which resulted a number of HITs being unintentional rejected. I will see what I can do to fix this and try to revert the rejections ASAP. Reversing a rejection is a lot harder than it sounds because I need to write script to perform rejection reversal. Meanwhile, if you know a simple way to reverse to a rejection, please let me know. I appreciate your understanding and sorry about all the trouble caused. Thank you!
I agree, and that's a great question. I read each name carefully and then clicked one. Perhaps I'm really being penalized for having a faster internet connection...because that's fair.
maybe like 10 - 15 seconds each I wasn't really counting but i did 250 in about 1.5 - 2 hours while listing to music with a few cigarette breaks... not nearly as fast sa set masters
This may help as well with the rejections! http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/A...rence_ApproveRejectedAssignmentOperation.html
Thank you dear fellows, especially on the instructions about how to reverse rejections. I am working on it right now so please be a little more patient. Once again, sorry for causing this trouble. I'm new to AMT and was too strict on accepting the HITs.
I wrote the article and have substantial experience of the API. Don't hesitate to let me know if you need any advice or assistance.
