I wonder how much crap AMT is going to get over the next few days as requesters realize the extra fees and realize their work is taking forever to get done. In the meantime it is going to be one hell of a Christmas for the Masters.
I agree with this. I marked many as N/A because if I had already spent over a minute looking for an email address, I had done enough of them already to know that I was likely not to find the email if I searched for another ten minutes. This was especially true of ESL and Bilingual teachers. Principals could be found 99 times out of 100. Superintendents could be found 8 out of 10 times. ESL teachers maybe 2 out of 10. I thought that Tim/Lindsay understood that we aren't going to break our back and search to the ends of Google for 10 cents. I say put up a reasonable qual that eliminates the people that don't know what they are doing or are simply marking down garbage or N/A and periodically make people redo it. The masters qual thing makes no sense.
Hi everyone...I'm on the forum sporadically and tonight I was a little disturbed about all the masters qualification bashing. Now to be fair I do hold all the master quals so the work being posted as "masters only" is available to me BUT I am not a scammer and I have completed over 300,000 HITS and have only had 500 ever rejected so I maintain a 99.9 % approval rating. I have never done the Tim/Lindsay HITs and I am not about to do them now just because they are masters only but it does make me a bit..unsettled...that many of you are actively emailing requester s asking them to remove that qualification, I understand it's frustrating and that amazon doesn't provide guidance on how to obtain the qualifications but how would those of you that do not have the qualification feel if people who do have it were actively posting on this forum that they were emailing requester s and asking them to move the work to the masters area. I have worked hard to maintain a high standard of work and I feel like the qualifications I have been granted are a reward or "promotion" of sorts for a long standing job well done. I'm not trying to say anyone on here doesn't work hard and I do understand that I could do the HITS if they were not "masters only".
I don't have a problem with people with masters qualifications. I DO have a problem with having limited work because I don't currently have this qualification even though I do very careful work. I only have 50,000 hits with 40 rejections. A far cry from 300,000 I understand but it doesn't change my quality. Also, as you stated, you can do ANY hit even if they are not masters while we CANNOT. It makes your argument of "how would you feel if..." weak. I'm sorry but it just doesn't affect you the way it affects us.
It's not that anyone here is bashing someone for holding the Masters Qual. It's the understanding of people here (I don't know specifically) that the Masters Qual isn't assigned based on hard work or as a promotion. It is apparently randomly assigned and not based on any qualifications at all. Again, I don't know that for a fact, but that is what others have said. Thus the complaints. Eliminating good workers in exchange for a perceived group of better workers that aren't necessarily any better doesn't make any sense.

Ugh....I just spent half a fucking hour for nothing. That hit was letting me do it without a partner- NOW it won't complete without one....so I can't submit it. FML Today....just...UGH
the people sending messages feel they have been punished because of others. if someone was sending messages to make it a master's then the only reason i could think of would be that they have more hits and others have less. the comparisons aren't the same. you say you've never done a hit for the requester, so i think that is why you are misunderstanding why people are complaining about the whole n/a stuff and why people think they are unfairly being punished.
Exactly. This never had anything to do with people with the masters qual. I couldn't care less whether someone has the qual or not. As I understand it, the masters qual is a marketing gimmick from Amazon that let's them charge more for supposedly higher quality workers, when in reality it is a randomly assigned qualification that has nothing to do with the quality or quantity of your submitted work. What people are mad about is that a good requester is preventing good workers from working on their HITs and trying to get better quality results by using a bad metric.
Just joined up to post this.. this is in the directions to the Tim/Lindsay HITS now "If no email address can be located, please type N/A *(ALL N/A RESPONSES WILL BE VERIFIED BEFORE PAYMENT IS RELEASED)" So I'm going to go out on a limb and say people were scamming the system and puttting in n/a in order to get them done quickly so this requester has decided that they want what Amazon considers to be their top quailty workers. Another case of a few ruining it for the many. Sorry for those that don't have the quals.
