What is up with all the CrowdFlower survey hits that when you click to view them, there's a "Not Found" message. There are at least half a dozen like this. This is making me crankier than usual
Crowdflower Hits Same here, I get this error on all of their Hits since last week: Not Found That URL doesn't lead to anything, as far as we can tell. Aarggh. CrowdFlower is getting on my last nerve. I wanted to do their "Listen to Music Clips..." HIT because it sounds like fun. Description says "Qualifications Required: None". When I try to work on it, I get a message saying my location doesn't match the requester's requirements. Sooo...that would be one of the nonexistent qualifications required?
I think (I may be wrong) that for the surveys at least, they've been posting some surveys that are against mturk's rules. And once people report them crowdflower removes the survey. The surveys that turn into websites that ask for your cell number and other info and then ask you to complete an advertising offer (the one I saw was a car insurance quote offer and the only way to finish the hit was to sign up for a quote) in order to complete the hit and get reimbursed. This probably doesn't apply to all of the hits you are seeing, though.
the other day I clicked on one of the crowd flower hits and it said they were having technical difficulties on their end but they were working on it. today I went to do a hit (key word question) and it came up but it wouldn't submit. So I'm wondering if they are still having technical issues.
I think you might be right. Before this happened several I had clicked on and passed by were of this type, which surprised me. I had even wondered if I had gotten some sort of internal ban because I had accepted a couple of these without looking first and then returned them once I realized what they were.
