A few questions to all my fellow Indians who have recieved cheque from mturk

    1) How does amazon convert $ to Rupees ?? Exactly according to the present standard rates or a bit lower ?

    2) how to cashout the cheque ?? Can submit cheque at any bank or only a specified bank ? What is the usual procedure u follow ?

    3) Please tell me your experience on how many days did it take to reach you after submitting the withdraw request.

Thanx in advance guys for your answers :)

hi, u receive an email with conversion rate when check is issued. they convert $ to rupees by citibank cohversion rates existing on the day when check is issued. u can submit check in any bank where u hold an account with the same name as on amazon account. u usually receive check within 3 weeks at the most.

Hey i have also requested for cheque three times so far but everytime the request gets rejected and i get a reply from them saying that there is an issue with my address as its longer than 35characters so whats with the 35 characters rule of mturk. Can anyone please help me in getting my address shorten to 35chacracters without changing the entire address and by ensuring that the cheque gets delivered to me on my address as i feel if i shorten my address length then the whole address will get wiped out and the cheque might go to some other address or my not get delivered at all.

Also i have received a reply from Mturk all the three times i have requested for cheque in indian rupees.. they say there was some problem with my document and let me tell you friends i have uploaded my PAN Card soft copy in JPEG Format on mturk while requesting for the cheque. So is it ok. I have uploaded the document after editing the address on http://www.amazon.com/

Please help me in getting this fixed friends as i am finding it really difficult to get my cheque request approved and unable to understand the reason behind that.

    Anticipating for your reply.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Rahul J. Shetty

The cheque comes from citi bank.. that doesn't matter... you will have to put the cheque in the bank where you have account... that's the procedure..

It won't take one week if you have CITIBANK branch in the city where you submit the check. It will be credited to your account in the same day then...

It would be foolish to open an account in Citi just for this. I would prefer a 10 day delay and deposit in a nationalized bank. Safe and gives peace of mind. I never trust those private banks. Bloody blood suckers. I have heard stories about them that will make you cringe.

Maybe laws are such that they won't get away easily elsewhere. But here, no. I wouldn't touch a private bank even with a barge pole.

Yes, you can. If the bank is nationalized, which I believe is,you can. You can deposit it at any branch of the same bank.

I receive my cheques within 8 days. I usually put my cheque for clearing in my Axis bank account. It will take 3 working days for clearing. But there is charge for this clearing. Recently I was debited 35Rs for a cheque worth Rs.5200/-

Nothing of that sort for a nationalized bank, I might be wrong though.

Don't think like that.... See that Amazon told us that it will take 6weeks for the cheque... but within 3 weeks+ we will get the money in bank...
I think no problem with that...
