OK, we seem a have some time to kibbitz here today. I've been looking for site reviews of online microjobs elsewhere, crossed off ClickWorkers, but read some good stuff and some contradictions about Leapforce. Has anyone worked for them? http://www.indeed.com/cmp/Leapforce/reviews
I have not. When I first started turking (and was not making much), I heard about the 2 companies listed below. I looked into them but saw that they want people to commit to x hours per week (I will not do that - so I never pursued it). At the time, I got the impression that Lionbridge was a bit better - don't know why http://www.lionbridge.com/ http://appen.com/company/opportunities/
I already tried Appen and left when I found it was strictly translation. Looks like Lionbridge has no jobs here: http://www.thesmartcrowd.com/about/workers/job-opportunities/ I appreciate your input, turkinthetropics. I need to narrow down the huge list of crowdsourcing companies. There's so much corporatese on their pages. See if you can read this in one breath: "... is dedicated to leading the next generation of outsourcing by leveraging its secure, enterprise-scale crowdsourcing model to help enterprises increase productivity, maximize workforce elasticity and reduce workforce costs." OK, breathe.
I doubt it. I tried it in Chrome and Flora said the same thing happened in Firefox. I think that people probably are not noticing what is happening - these are very quick (click 2 bubbles( hits that could be done in about 5 seconds. I think people are probably going really fast and just do not notice. Hopefully the requester will realize that the error is on his end and not reject everybody
I tried several different platforms when I first started turking but found I could do better by hanging around here and working for crap but consistent pay. In those days I was happy with $20 per day.
My HitScraper still doesn't Vb. Easy $1 survey for 10 minutes, one for women, another for men: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/previewandaccept?groupId=3NRDOESS7OSPHJJMQBQ8XD61ODOQW9 https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=31VUYN7D9W0WA22D66G70O3FP4TQS8
I'm looking around because after 5 months here and 6 months at survey sites, I'm still getting crap, and it's not consistent. Leapforce site is a lot of gobbledygook. Do you know what kind of jobs they have, when they have them? Did anywhere else look promising to you?
Why did you think that? Because someone here told you so? Dont believe everyone or everything you read. Poster Lori had her account suspended due to TOS violations reported by people 2-3 years ago. She posted some hits for fun and somehow got flagged for adult content. Her HITs didnt have the adult content qual and she got in trouble and lost access to work for a few days, maybe a week. There are other examples I could get into but I dont remember the details right now, just now that there is likely someone looking through those reports.
Yep . . . no response. I sent him a message to explain that I did not notice it during the first hit and only noticed it when I went to do the second hit. (I am worried that my one hit will get rejected).
Also, looking at Reddit link, it appears that Amazon told the requester that it was due to people reporting them
I don't know. I didn't do any for them at the time but I don't remember why now. I think I just found it easier to stay here. Do you do transcriptions?
They posted a thread on it 2 days ago. They are looking for workers to do their work outside of Mturk. If you're interested in doing their work, contact them. http://mturkforum.com/showthread.ph...-For-Writers&p=1632663&viewfull=1#post1632663
I was talking about requesters who break the TOS, for example, asking you to sign up or click on their new site.
No, I'm a 2-finger typist and I have to watch the keyboard, then check my work onscreen. In reality, I can't work both MT and surveys intensively at the same time. Surveys also come in randomly and have to be grabbed immediately. I sent Lionbridge a note.
