Personally, I would rather the hits get posted and then edited with a time later. Not every hit is going to be a quarter for 30 seconds of clicking. But if it was, I promise you they would be gone in the time it takes to tell us how long it took. We are not the only MTurk centered website out there and we need to take it while the taking is good. I have already returned more than I did today. But the ones I did get were well worth it.

Answer a few questions SDT Lab Account .30 https://www.mturk.com/mturk/searchbar?selectedSearchType=hitgroups&requesterId=AHAUQH8J0L3OR It says it takes 3-5 minutes in the survey. edit: sorry there's writing in this one and there's a character minimum
Just putting in my .02c on the time thing, I think if it is in the directions its a good thing to post it. Its always helpful to update how long it took after you complete it. However, more often then not if we wait for someone to finish it and post a time, its gone before anyone else can get it. I'd rather people post the hit info, if someone thinks its taking to long they can always return it.
I didn't time it, but it took me maybe 5 or 10 minutes. I forgot to accept the HIT until after I took it, so now that I have accepted it just waiting for the time to get to 10 minutes before I submit it.
60 minutes maybe, and was also watching TV and on a conference call? Not sure, was broken up a bit by taking care of the dog, etc. Pretty standard article rewrite. My bigger concern is whether i'll be able to keep producing unique enough content if all of the articles I'm rewriting are too similar, but I haven't had a chance to look at them all yet, doing another survey.

I like it when people post them when they first see them as well. We each have our own perception of what is too long or not. Just like we each finish tasks at different rates. Just because I may take 10 minutes to complete something doesn't mean the next person would take that long. It's just good to get them all posted before they are all used up.

This is probably not the greatest method, but I usually keep long surveys for small pay open and do them until something else comes up. If you just return it and wait until something else comes up, you'll be wasting time. BUT If something shorter DOES come up, and the time limit in the long one is long enough and won't run out while I do the short one then i go over to that one and do it and then get back to long one after I finish that. They usually give you way more time than you need in the surveys anyway so i've never had a survey expired on me for doing that. I'm constantly checking this forum while doing other surveys.
Whoa, hold up. I post a LOT of HITs that either a) I don't qualify for or b) Require some sort of recording that I can't do with the little one around because I know that they'll go over well here for the people that CAN do them. I don't want anyone to miss out. So I can't post them now b/c I'm not doing them and posting a time for? It's not like everyone completes HITs at a different rate anyways.
yea the last 3 surveys i've posted had writing in them :/ hopefully the survey is short after you do that
It is, I just finished it a few minutes ago. The writing task is the only thing that takes any time. There are maybe 5 questions after that.
