woohoo just got over 500 approved. Where are all these awesome hits for the over 500 i've been hearing about?
Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving...and, If any of you are planning on spending your hard earned Turking dollars at Walmart please do a google search and read about the employee protests and walkouts and how Walmart manipulates and screws over their employees in the name of greed. Also remember that one of the reason some of us can't find good jobs and turn to Mturk for income is because of huge corporations like Walmart that stock their stores with products made by slave labor and children in third-world countries. /preaching over
hear hear! Walmart hasn't gotten a dime of my money in about 3 years after I watched a documentary about their treatment toward workers not only in America but in so many countries, it's sick.
I have to agree...someone I know very very well who looks and acts like me ...reviewed two lawsuit cases where the employees were being fired for crazy reasons. She read through many personnel files...Why do I---she still shop there today?
Hear Hear indeed! In 2011 Wlamart made over $15 BILLION in profit yet they force employees to work under 35 hours so they don't have to treat them as full-time workers and provide them benefits. Meanwhile the Walton family's wealth (6 people) is larger than the bottom 30% of the people in the entire country.
I understand some peoples feelings with Walmart, because of how badly the store is known across the America. But I live in a small rural area. The only thing we have is a GP paper mill and a super Walmart. Walmart is actually treated like a good job here. Many workers work full time and are paid $12 an hour. It's one of the better retail jobs here unless you want to work in a gas station. My friends who work there have nothing but good things to say about them. It could be because we just don't have any other options. I would have to drive 45 minutes to the nearest Target store. I shop at Walmart because I can afford to shop there. If I had more money, I would shop at better stores. I know stores like Walmart depend on middle and lower income families to keep them going. Just my opinion on Walmart. Some of us don't have a choice.
