it's... a limited rewrite... it really depends on what the original gives you to work with...

With these Rubins, for something that is (introduction to software engineering) if the school has (software engineering) and nothing else, would you give that for the HIT? Does it have to say "introduction to"?

These HITs seem like there's a lot of room for error or a huge gray area that isn't explained very well.

Yeh that Crowdflower qualification question was pretty stupid. Even if Mitt Romney had won the election, George Bush would still have been the previous president, because Obama is the current president up until inauguration day.

Yeah I check it out every once in awhile. Apparently i'm 500 points away from the all time top 10 list. I'm sure it doesn't mean shit though.

Help journalists: Decide if these pages are part of the same document or if there is a document boundary among them.
$.05 per hit, each hit takes about 30 seconds

No TO on the requester, however there's apparently a qual they will be giving out to those who do well on these HIT to access some better paying ones in the future.

Obama is not the previous president. He is the current president. And even if it was 2013, the previous president is STILL someone different.
Like asking, who was the president before Obama? Obama is not the president before Obama... that's just a dumb question all around

I did this in the last batch and they all got approved. For example, if it said "Computer Security" and they had a course on "Network and Computer Security" I would put that. I only did it if it was a logical connection.

EDIT: This should be a good Saturday. I love these HITs :)

that's what i've been doing, i haven't been rejected yet. in some cases where it might be a slightly questionable substitution (like putting an intro probability class when an intro probability and statistics class is requested) i write something in the comments (for the probability example, i would explain that there was no combined probability and stats class and this was the closest thing).

he asks for a lot of basic sequences like physics 1 & 2 and calculus 1 & 2, and many schools offer several sets of these for students with different majors, backgrounds, or skill levels, so i pick what appears to me to be the most common option for the average student (i.e., no honors courses, or specific courses like 'calculus for economics majors') and write comments where i feel explanation might be needed. i've also done this for courses like chemistry II where a school only offers a single basic chemistry course, i just put the available single course and write in the comments that it's not offered as a 2-part sequence.
