This forum's very tiny file-size limit is really harsh on gifs as avatars edit: not sure what you mean by choppy, but if it's too "fast" you could increase the delay between frames and that would make it slower and easier to tolerate, but it wouldn't be as smooth.
it really is is it just this forum or is that standard to have a file size limit? edit; I have no idea how to do that, TJ did this one for me. I was tooling around with software in the browser without luck of getting it under 19 kb
If the file size were any higher, I'd have to turn images off, and then I couldn't see everyone's lovely faces and whatevers.
It's standard to have a file-size limit, just not one that small. It's ridiculous, especially considering that there are several megabytes of gifs posted on every page anyway. Wonder if anyone's ever asked Andy to increase that a little bit. What's your internet speed anyway, Mills? You talk like it's dial-up, but you see and post gifs a bit too fast for that. The current filesize limit is like 19KB right now, I think. 50KB is still pretty small but shouldn't be unreasonable.
