What is this? Spoiler I am Tjbot! I'm a solution devised by the genious mods to prevent there ever being a day that hit threads aren't posted! The whole point of my existence is to post a hit thread if one doesn't exist by 12:08am PST. If you see this post, assume that this one is the main post. One of the mod team will clean up existing posts and consolidate once they wake up and get online. As my name indicates, I am a bot. I don't post, nor do I respond to PM's. If you have any problems, send an email to tjbot@ns4t.net or PM Tjololo, he can help out with any issues. Want to make tomorrow's thread? Just go for it!

Maybe avoid these. I just got 5 rejections--I can buy that one or two of them were done wrong, but there's no way in hell I did five of them incorrectly enough to merit a rejection. Here's another one to avoid in case anyone is thinking of doing this batch. This guy has a 2% approval rating on MTurk. How is this even allowed? MTurk workers practically walk on eggshells knowing the headaches rejections can cause and how we can get limited or outright banned if our approval ratings go too low but somehow it's fine or requesters to behave recklessly and outright scam the workers. There should be some sort of minimum requesters have to meet when it comes to approvals and we can argue what that number should be and how it's implimented but I think any reasonable person would say it should be well above 2%. Also this guy wants Masters only and people above 10,000 approved HITs (which I would be suprised if you could get masters before this point anyway) so he's being super picky. I guess the good thing is he won't be suckering any newbies or casual MTurk workers into doing his hits. Turkopticon is working on proposing to Mturk not to mass reject workers, like maybe limit the amount of rejections in a batch. There's actually a petition going on to "end the harm of mass rejections". No idea if that petition will actually work. While that is a good idea but at the same time how do requesters prevent scammers, ones that just do sloppy work quickly just to get paid. There has to be a balance somewhere. Those darn scammers have to ruin it for the rest of us. https://www.coworker.org/petitions/end-the-harm-of-mass-rejections
I'm not sure workers are scamming at all. Sometimes a requester changes his instructions from batch to batch, (hell, I've even seen them do that from hit to hit within the same batch) and/or you just have a brain fart and get confused and do some wrong. Human error happens Most of these requesters are wildly underpaying us anyway, so they should just absorb the loss and yank someone's quals when and if they do an unacceptable number of hits incorrectly. Or they could have clear instructions (think how few do) and make workers do a series of training hits, to be sure they know how to do the task correctly before getting the qual. There are some requesters who do that, like flying fish. Amazon needs to start making sure requesters know how to use the platform and making them adhere to a few rock bottom behavioral standards. If workers did a sliver of the shit requesters do to us, we'd lose our accounts.
