I'm brand new here. Yesterday was my first day turking seriously and I made a little over $20. I know as I meet certain qualifications, I will be able to make more money in less hours. I have a lot of questions for the regulars here. How many hours do you invest in turking per day/week? How often do you take a day off? What's your approximate hourly rate and monthly income from mturk? How long did it take you to get to that point? What have you made on your highest and lowest day? Oh and how do some of you do 3700 hits in a day? Any advice for a newbie? Lol sorry fire all the questions. Nice to meet you all, by the way. My name is Chelsea. I'm from Louisiana. Also how many of you do this as a full time job? Do you do anything else on the side to make sure you make enough money?
To answer your questions, it is completely up to you. It all depends on how long you want to turk and what qualifications you have under your belt. Some of us do quite well, while others don't. The more you turk the more money you will essentially make. It just boils down to how much time you want to invest.
Just be sure to stretch and move around after being at the computer for a while. Going long (Working 10+ hours) you should be taking regular breaks. What you make is entirely up to you, you just have to put in the hours.
Hi im new to this Turkin thing too. im shocked when i here people say 11 dollars an hour 15 dollars an hour or even say they earned 20 dollars a day. ive been active for about 8 days now and im up to 13 dollars. ive done about 66 hits which i calculate to be about an average of 5 cents a hit. i dont know how they are calculating the per hour wage. what ive decided is to have a goal of average hits per day. so my goal is at least 10 hits a day i work 40 hours a week so maybe on the weekend i can avarge more but hopefully my plan is to pay the cell bill each month and to help with daycare cost.
Different people have different goals...I only Turk during the week and only when I'm at work (my job affords me a fair amount of downtime) and bring in about $20 a day, which is about what I'd make if I was working a part-time minimum wage job. Don't base your goals on what you see other people here making... set your own and be happy when you make it.
The big mystery for me is how many hits some people seem to be doing per minute. I havent come across any batch hits i can do that fast. Any requesters to suggest?
Set goals and stick to them. Simple ones are have 80 submitted and approved HITS in the 10 day waiting period before you get uncapped HITting ability. After that set a number of HITs per day or $ per hit or total money. Mine at the moment is 250 hits a day 5 days a week, 500 the other 2. I try to keep a 30-40$ a day average (still in the first 14 days or so of doing this) and anything more is super gravy happy bonus. When I wrote down my goals and promised myself to try to achieve them, I became much more successful
Cool Cool, I was wondering how you made 40$ a week. I've made about 80 dollars in the past week, I can do 20$ bit it would take me 6 hours minimum doing those darned transcriptions. I was wondering what kind of hits you do.
Keeping in mind what the min wage is at least in the states, one should also consider that when doing hits. If you're sitting at a computer for 8+10 hours a day, and only making twenty dollars or less, something is wrong. I would suggest going out and getting a job, where you might make a little more. The point of mturk, should be to earn extra income. I make it a rule, not to work anymore than hour and a half a day. I also try and earn at least five dollars if I'm going to work on mturk. I look for specific hits. I won't do hits, that I think are underpaid. I won't write articles for under four dollars. It is about time and value. You need to know how fast you can work, and the money that you can earn. I seek out hits that are worth my time, and offer an award that I find satisfactory.
