I've been trying to teach myself transcription since the John Gaddy HITs dried up. I had done a CastingWords HIT back in 2010 but just got a so-so 7 grade on the one I did so I got discouraged and didn't want to try them again. I started in the beginning of this month doing Imfuna and Redwood HITs, and then did a few for SpeechInk. In this thread: http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?2066-Need-Help-with-audio-Transcription Zinni suggested giving ClariTrans a try, which I've had a lot of luck with too. So yesterday I decided to jump into CastingWords. I sorted by lowest pay because I figured those would be the easiest to get started with. It took me FOREVER because I kept going over the style guide like 20 times before I submitted it, but this morning I got the following in my CW profile: Reward: $0.38 Score: 8.00 Bonus: $0.57 Agree with graders on Transcription xxx Grade: 8 Comments: Minor error 'is produced' should be 'it's produced'. Good transcription otherwise. xxx Grade: 9 Comments: Excellent transcript commas missing (avg rwrd+bns: $0.76) [03:46 mmss]' I'm pretty happy about this!
