I think in a way throughout our lives there will be a battle to face constantly. Sometimes multiple ones at once. It's just learning to realize that not all of them are as terrible as you make them out to be at the given times, and sometimes shit just happens. Make the best of it and keep on moving along.
Yes. And no. It depends on what you're willing to face and what you're willing to learn. although tfw when you're *sure* you're not buzzed and then you notice you're suddenly spouting Zen koans this, this this this this, with all the underscores and all the emphases. when you can realise how rarely it's ever actually about you (and definitely not the universe telling you there's something, or anything wrong with you) that it's just some crappy shit that's happening, many things get better about life in all directions quickly.
I was in a really bad place. No job, no kids, no real responsibilities at 22. I did what I wanted when I wanted for a few months, and eventually realized I was being a dumbass. People cared for me, many of them being from this forum and my family cared even if we had rough patches. Nobody should have to look after you when it comes to your life, drinking too much, or whatever it may be. I stepped up and took better care of myself for myself. I see people years older than me that expect their partners/parents to take care of them like they are still a child and it still shocks me a little.
