    UGH, they enabled safety mode on youtube and I can't disable it. They just made my day 80% more shitty...Youtube is all I have, why do you have to block most of the content?!

    That is what I'm doing...Yeah, probably. Kitchen nightmares is blocked, my public freakout videos are blocked, some of my game videos are blocked...URGH this is 100% dumb.

    VPNs are blocked. Even if they weren't, it's some kind of an administrative action. When I try to disable it, it says "Safety mode is enabled by your network administrator."

    Who in your company is aware that your day is about to consist of 8 hours of not working? If no one, tell your supervisor. Then if he still has nothing for you, tell him to pull some strings to get youtube content unrestricted so you can watch it all day because it's all you have

    Nah, everyone knows it, but there's nothing they can do. It's the Department of State. Our system (what my team is responsible for) was supposed to go live September of 2013. There's been delay after delay after delay. We almost went live in November, but then crap happened I can't talk about and we got put off until "sometime this summer". Until we go live, there's nothing we can do but be here to answer questions. I'm available, but bored.

    The youtube block is (most likely) network-wide, meaning every youtube browser in the world on the DoS network is "safety enabled". Probably, because of that, they are gonna be very reluctant to unblock it or figure out a way to enable just me/this workstation because I have nothing better to do.
