I think once you get beyond 2 monitors you cross some kind of a line. Like the difference between owning 3 and owning 4 cats. That said, we have 5 full-time cats. So I'd say go for it.

I use 3: 2 24" and a 20". I dont use the third one all that much, I mostly use the 2 large ones to turk. The third one I use for music, notepad whatever I dont want to interrupt my workflow. Its nice to have the option of a third screen if you need it, but I rarely need it to turk.
