for the newbies. learn to use scripts! Turkmaster for pandas Hit Scrapper to find high paying batches, (and check here of course) Turkoption to make sure you don't get burned. Flora has them in her sig.
Thanks for all the advise, everyone! I guess for now, the plan is to get to 5000 hits as soon as possible! After seeing how so many people had such a good day yesterday, I couldn't help be get impatient, haha.
What he said. IF you catch it, you will hear some turkers like to have a plan. They don't directly say that, however. It comes out in the form, I was eyeing that batch, or I figured I would work on that in tomorrow. If you watch closely, some turkers are planners. lol.
onlyverbally, I'm new too. I've been turking for exactly 33 days but I'm already at 4,054 approved with 1 rejection because I didn't pay attention to the age on a survey. I've gotten a lot of my numbers from Crowdsurf. If you type fast you might want to give them a try. I don't do many surveys because they tend to take me long...guess I'm a slow reader.
I'm not a Scraper expert, but as I understand it, it really does two very separate things. You can use it to find things that pay over a certain threshold or use it to find batches (an oversimplification but that's mainly it). I only use it to search for batches (so you probably know more than I about the other way to use it). My settings (and they might not be all that great but they work for me - would appreciate input if someone more experienced comes along):
Some people just scramble. Some people know in advance what they will work on if there doesn't appear to be much work. I hope that makes sense.
Well, if you count bonuses and the stuff still pending I am at $66.66 for the week. I bet if I work hard during my little guy's nap I can round out to $70 for the week. Not bad considering it is my first week back in several months.
One more thing about Scraper . . . I make serious use of the blocklist. I'm on a hair trigger to block junk and HITs I'll never do. For example, if any hit requires an iPad or other Apple product, I block it. Because I don't own those things and don't intend to in the future. Apple enthusiasts could do the same for any HIT that calls for an Android device . . . .
